I have lots of womyn friends that I suspect are gay. The wear like really really comfortable shoes, and they get their hair cut all wispy and short, and they snort when they laugh, and they don't want to talk endlessley about shopping and shit. That shopping hating thing really sets my gaydar a-tingle, let me tell you, cause lord knows, when I shop, I can cover so much area I leave a contrail.

Anyhoo, when I get all this realy good evidence, I usually wait til I'm invited to their houses and then when their husbands and kids are all around the dinner table, I just come out with it, right there over the tuna aspic.

Let, me tell you, I rarely see dessert.

Ok my two cents (or sense - or lack thereof)

Obviously because he comes from a christian background, he isn't that comfortable with his.......shall we say.... preferences... and if he's not comfortable with them, he sure as hell won't be comfortable with anyone knowing about them.

However.....since he is your good friend....your best friend...and you have always been close, and you mentioned your Gayday had been tweaked even before you saw the sites on your computer, I would, in your situation, just sit him down one day and say something to the effect of... "you know, we've been through alot together, and always managed to stay friends....blah blah blah.... if there are any issues or secrets you may be hiding from me, because you're scared I won't see you in the same light, or I'll judge you for it, then I just want to make it plain and clear that whatever decisions you make in your life, I'll be there to support you.

You don't need to force him "out" but just let him know that whatever happens, you'll still be his friend.

Remember, by coming out, he's going to go from top of the food chain... white male (I assume he's white - not that it matters) to white GAY male....which can be a pretty hated thing...especially in the Christian community. So be gentle...

And now.......back to our regularly scheduled flaming......

Yes, when I suspect that someone has had the audacity to keep something from me, I always back them into a corner, er...I mean 'sit them down' and hint that I know their secrets. That way, if they aren't gay, they can wonder WTF! I'm talking about, and if they are gay, they will know for sure that I've been suspecting them all along.

I try to have some music playing softly in the background, preferably "Feelings" and then when I give my little speech, it's usually followed by a tearful confession. That or a punch to the side of my smug face. One of those two.

That is the worst advice I have ever heard. If someone ever gave me that crap spiel, I would laugh at them and walk out. Probably never speak to them again. JUST LET THE MAN BE WHO HE IS! If he wants to tell you anything about himself, he will. If he doesn't want you to know, he wont say anything. Apparently he does not want you to know, so just let it be.
