Wasn't really moved/impressed. The little girl was annoying. And the whole thing is pretty much the brother's fault for not getting a damn job and having too much pride to go back to his aunt. The aunt was a %@@% but look where it got you you dumb fuck. He tried leaching off everyone and stealing from everyone instead of doing any work himself. So I'm supposed to have sympathy for that? Pssh.

Spoiler [+] It's the true story of a 14 year old and his 4 year old sister. The 14 year did pretty well considering the place where he live just got incinerated along with his mother. And his father was away at sea and most likely dead. Was the 14 year old perfect? No. But he did the best he could to survive, and help his littler sister survive.

It's a live action film from 2004 about a Japanese mother whose young children have to fend for themselves after she abandons them. It's excellent, but I don't know what it has to do with anime

Also the whole point of Graves, to me, was that the older brother was a kid too. Yes he made stupid mistakes, but so does every 14 year old. Kids are kids, and the tragedy is that he was in that situation to begin with. But ya, I love Studio Ghibli so I would suggest you basically watch all of them. Only Yesterday (by the same guy that did Graves) is probably in my top 5 favorite films of all time. I don't really know much anime beyond Ghibli though, sorry! Merely <3
