Jessica #2, You are So Beautiful -- Normally a little boring of a song, but she sang it amazingly. It was just fantastic, I thought.3. Joshua #2, To Love Somebody -- This is a great song, and yeah, if he was just a little more restrained at the end, it would've been really excellent.4. Skylar #1, Fortunate Son -- There's just something about Skylar that works for me...the energy, her performance, and how her voice is good enough to crossover from country to pop pretty easily. Plus, a little of that rocker vibe that is sorely lacking with Elise gone. 5. Joshua #1, Ain't to Proud to Beg -- Actually it was not too over the top, fairly calm and he kept his screaming in check much of the time. He sounded good, but perhaps a different song would've been better. 6. Skylar #2, You Don't Have to Say You Love Me -- I thought she was brilliant in the verse, just sounded amazing. I didn't feel she was nearly as strong in the chorus, though. 7. Hollie #2, Bleeding Love -- She sounded good, but she didn't hit the high notes that Leona hits, and it sort of felt a little flat in comparison. Still really good. 8. Jessica #1, Proud Mary -- I thought she sounded great here and had excellent energy. There's no doubt she can sing, but I can see how she sort of pales in comparison with Tina. I think Hollie did better with her song than Jessica did with hers. HUGE GAP9. Phil #1, The Letter -- Wow, he slaughtered this song. He sang okay, but really destroyed the chorus. Amazingly bad. I've liked many of Phil's performances, but this wasn't good. 10. Phil #2, Time of the Season -- The verses were okay. As they mentioned, it sort of fit his style. But he destroyed the chorus. He cannot sing the high notes. He just sounded bad, bad, and awful. He destroyed a very good night by everyone else. The group performances -- wow, yes, Phil was awful with his duet with Josh. Just awful. The girls were pretty evenly good, not great, I thought. Who should go home if there is any justice in the world: Phil. Who will go home...I think we may see a surprise, and Skylar might be gone. I keep expecting it to be Hollie, but I've been wrong so many times on her, I give up this week. Plus, she was really good this week. But all three girls were good, and it just seems like Phil isn't going anywhere, and neither is Josh.
