“Survivor” is coming back for another new season and casting directors for the show are now looking for the new season’s cast. The show’s casting team will be in New Jersey in April of 2012 to find people to go on the show for the 2012 / 2013 season.

"Survivor" Hopefuls Line Up For Casting Call
More than 200 people turned out
Monday night for an open casting call for the CBS reality show

Among those in the early crowd was Dan Foley, who drove more than 20 hours from Maine to take part. Foley says he's attended six of the open casting calls because he believe "Survivor" would be the ultimate experience. He says the $1 million prize is nice, but he'd do it even without the money.
Other hopefuls traveled from New Jersey, Texas and other states.
Survivor hopefuls recorded one-minute segments,
trying to prove to producers they deserve a shot to outwit, outplay and
outlast. Despite the advice often repeated to simply be yourself,
there was no shortage of face paint and props.
Survivor Guatemala winner Danni Boatwright of Tonganoxie was on hand to meet people at Monday's event, along with Yve Rojas, who competed in Nicaragua, and Lori DelliColli from CBS marketing.
DelliColli says the show's producers have, in fact, found several contestants from the open casting calls. Among them was Brandon Bellinger of St. George, Kansas, who competed on Boatwright's tribe in Guatemala. She was among those giving the "be yourself" advice, saying producers will see right through people who aren't genuine.
Survivor is currently in its 24th season. It airs at 7 pm Wednesday nights on WIBW-TV.

Start of filming on Survivor 25 confirmed
Camarines Sur’s governor told abs-cbnNEWS, “It’s a really big production but I cannot (give more details) because I signed a confidentiality agreement. It’s is being filmed right now and it’s going to air in September,” L. Ray Villafuerte told abs-cbnNEWS.com on Tuesday. That’s pretty definitive confirmation that this is the CBS, U.S. production—and a hilarious way to honor one’s confidentiality agreement.
The report says the governor “added that the shooting only started last week and will wrap up in August.” It did start early last week—that was evident to anyone who reads Survivor recaps and interviewers, as several regular entertainment writers disappeared last week, obviously to go on location. As to the end date, we know that season 26 will wrap up in June, although some crew members may linger as long as August to close down production.
As usual, the show involves a massive crew, which includes a number of locals. Villafuerte said that production there is “hiring 400 people. They pay them daily wage, they are hiring [vehicles, boats and all local supplies they buy so there’s serious business in the locality].” (I translated the part in [brackets]).

WORKING HYPOTHESES:
1) Status Quo - Survivor will continue with its normal Fall / Spring broadcasts of seasons filmed "back-to-back" at a single location. The Exhibits are for some season(s) (27 or 27/28) after 26 that would be filmed in 2012/2013 and broadcast starting in the Fall of 2013.
2) S25 Broadcasts this Summer - The now filming season of Survivor (25), will broadcast in the Summer of 2012, S26 which complete filming in late June 2012 at Gota Beach, Caramoan Peninsula, Carmines Sur, Philippines will broadcast in the Fall of 2012. Host Jeff Probst's last Survivor (26) will be broadcast concurrently with the launch of his daytime talk program. This unusually early casting activity and the reference in Exhibit A supports filming late this year for a Survivor 27. This would return Survivor to its old late Fall - Winter filming pattern. It is unclear if this current activity is for S27 as a single location shoot, or S27/28.
3) S27 Broadcasts Summer 2013 - Perhaps the recent ratings surge for BB and the fact it is hosted by CBS President Les Moonves mistress-turned-trophy-wife, will send BB into school year programming and Survivor 27 will broadcast Summer 2013 in its place. Or perhaps Survivor 25 and/or 27 will broadcast concurrently with BB during Summers.
