Posts: 3454 02/23/12 10:40 AM MESS Member More Recent Posts	I'm ignoring the coming up swap and focusing on what's going on now in the show, except where relevant. kisses Monica: even though she's outside the Party Girl alliance, and even though Sab was designated the leader, Monica has shown herself to be a true leader. Patience, she's demonstrating hardcore patience, this broad. At this point she's waiting to see what the fallout of TC will be, and what her place can be within the PG alliance. Classic mom role, all calm and sweet and quietly smart, and will totally rock you to sleep and sing you a lullaby as she slits your throat. Alicia: ugh, what a horrible human being. I was curious how she would take to Sab being the leader, and via an Insider, I get my answer. She's lazy, has zero interest in maintaining the tribe's health (mentally or physically), and believes her alliance and physical strength (which we really haven't seen), will take her to the end. So she'll poo all over everyone else on her tribe, the other tribe, and anything that gets in her way. She think she's playing a female Boston Rob game, but she's not. She's playing the jerky goat game. I don't expect much from her story-wise when she's not threatened, so I think she may take a backseat until a bit later. Her stupid allies made a stupid move by openly admitting at TC that they wish they had an alliance with different people, but held to it anyway. They're scared of her. I would be, too. She's mean without purpose. All of which makes her a puppetmaster, and gives her free reign to be as lazy as she wants. The message she and others got last night: it doesn't matter if you're worthless and hurt the game, you're a-okay because of a silly promise. Alicia's downfall comes way later, so get used to her peacockin'. And with the storm coming (dramatic weather = bonding, sexy and non-sexy), expect her to further cement herself. Gross. Sabrina: she's smart, has a very clear perception of how things really are, yet hesitates to make a stand. Which makes sense: she knows what can happen to strong, assertive women on this show. (Sit down, Alicia, you're not assertive, you're just a meanie face itch-bay. Yes, there is a difference.) Even though they showed Chelsea and Kim talking about defecting, I think Sab would actually be the one to do so. And the storm might be what pushes her enough to do so. I'm going to guess that Sab will get blamed for being a bad leader once or twice during the storm of rain and whining, because people love to blame other people for acts of nature. Totally unfair and sucks. Chelsea and Kim: kind of interchangable right now. Both are clearly intelligent, yet are used to being around men. Hot tomboys, yee haw! Their discomfort with all women is totally obvious. Both are thinking, "what did we get ourselves into?" with their alliance, but neither will make a move because as they see it, there's no one else to move to. (i.e. the men.) They won't go with Monica or Christina, if only because once you're on the outs with the chicks, you're always on the outs with the chicks. Drama Town is at maximum occupancy, thank you very much. At this point, both are sitting ducks, paralyzed by this strange, new world deplete of men. Kat: god, she's so cute. I adore her. I hate her on the show, though. I would HATE to be on her tribe. But otherwise, LOVE HER! She knows they think she's crap, but are keeping her anyway. What does that do to a person? I'm guessing this bit of insight propels Kat to try to be useful in some way. She wants to bring something to the table, even if it's a freshly caught rat for dinner. Which is good! Motivation is good. I don't see Kat as being complacent in her position as VOTE, but stepping up to the challenge. (Why not, she can't fail!) Not now, but at some point, though, she's going to call everyone out on their crap. She took a pretty good beating, and while not vindictive, won't like seeing others coast without mention. Christina: why do I read Cassandra Complex on her forehead? She could tell everyone the absolute truth, how things are going to be, and none of the ladies will listen. Like Cassandra, she too knows her time is coming. Too bad, I really like her. She could be super sweet to the women, but her lot has already been cast. All she can do is hope they win, and make it to merge. The swap just might be what keeps her later on.

But editing already showing us that she's on the alliance outs. People are saying in public they wish they had different allies, but they aren't willing to make the jump, and she's not much willing to pull them. Colton is really reminding me of Sugar. Useless player, physically and socially, but tumbles into absurdly powerful game position. Not going to win, but could be around for a long time. A little odd that we saw Jonas give the confessional that he is very bright. That's not what we had seen of Colton so far, but yet Jonas has been presented as an accurate commentator. I thought Chelsea and Kim are getting a positive edit, despite yeah, not being willing to make the strong move with Nina/Monica/?. The two of them together definitely girl power - not just the hot tomboys, but having a direct honest conversation about game position. And we heard last week from Kim being willing to work from behind - doesn't sound like they would go into a mixed tribe insisting on girl alliance, but wouldn't be pure followers like Rob's Natalie and Ashley. Tarzan/Greg definitely presented as clown, but popular one, not annoying with his carrying on. Troyzan slightly more visible than he needed to be. Leif positive (initiating fist bump at challenge eg) but quiet.

But I found it revealing that the women said they would have made a different alliance choice if they could. I would love the misfit five on the guys tribe to band together just because its fun to watch misfits do this.

Their potential flipping on the alliance seemed very manufactured and at tribal council it would constantly pan back and forth between the two of them.

Colton: he played his card at the right time by stringing up the men outside the 4, but looks like the himbos know about the HII, so huh. Truman Capote is playing a weird game; I think the sob story to the ladies was partly strategy, as Jonas highlighted Capote's smarts. Tennessee Williams has game. Jonas: is so cool, he's my favorite! On the island of misfit man toys, he's the most likely to fit in with the fab 4, and the ladies at a later point, too. He's going to continue on as narrator and mediator. (OMG, I love you, Jonas.) Mike: I know he's on the show, because I've seen him. The other guys, eh. Merlin, Jimmy Buffet, Willow, Gym Class Heros (you are gorgeous, Bill!), the quarterback, and I think maybe Brandon Bellinger haven't had much focus on them.

Chelsea will be with Alicia and Christina, Manono. Kim, Cat, Sabrina Salini. Monica TBD. So the Alicia & Christina feud has room to carry on, but Kim and Chelsea's bond will be deferred. I could see them as working together post-merge. They are the sensible ones, as is Sabrina. Those three are formidable. I enjoyed the misfit allowance. I agree that Troyzan has a lot of soundbyte considering his general irrelevance to what has happened so far, but so far his name isn't really out there on the boot radar. Matt would seem to be toast early on. He's like a younger version of Roger Amazon. They are letting us in on his downfall and not trying to hide it, asking us to enjoy.

However, I am trying to conceive a scenario where this could happen if the women (who also seem to have endgame potential) make it far. I don't see how someone like Troy will align with the women. I can definitely see how people like Leif and Jonas make it far. I can see the women liking them. However, I can also see that they will be booted before the finals due to being threats. I guess that answers my question lol. Maybe Troy is seen as an arrogant, chauvinistic, scheming jerk who would be great to bring to the end (alas Russell or Sash). There's also the idol. The guys have still not found the other idol yet. Troy could find it and use it as a bartering tool. Something is telling me that Sabrina gets blindsided around mid-merge by Alicia for being too strong and being too much of a threat. Kim and Chelsea both have good endgame stories going-not too subtle but not to open either. I can see Kim being more below the radar while Chelsea is more front-line. My bets would be more for Kim making it further than Chelsea and Chelsea leaving somewhere around final 6 or 5. My prediction for the final 3 right now is either: Alicia-Kat-Kim Troy-Kat-Kim

We do know some things from the post switch footage, that might tell us a bit more. We have Jeff's evaluations, CBS blurbs and promos. There are a few very sketchy 'spoilers' - if you buy them. Thus far the women have done little but pee on their shoes, to get an all female f3 from what we've seen and know from the switch is a real stretch. Projecting into the merge is reasonable. F3 of any 3 at this point is like predicting the weather for March 10, 2013. And yes it's just a tadd early for s25 ;)

We've watched enough Survivor to have some pretty good ideas what those forms are. The arc starts a certain way in the first two episodes, we have some decent ideas how it continues. Kat, for example, has a more positive story than she should. E2 starts with her as lazy girl around camp, playing in the ocean instead of working, and even talking about how she knows she's goofing off. Then gets complete blame for the team challenge loss, tribemates wish they had different allies. But yet at tribal council, we hear "I've never failed because I've never tried anything I wasn't sure I could do". So wow, that's the start of an arc. If she were a weak-in-challenges, lazy-in-camp young girl early boot, that wasn't necessary.

And those forms project to the extent that we can frequently tell longer term players from shorter; players who have an impact from those who don't; those whose story will be central, and so on. That's why we have an arc thread, and why it's useful. They didn't exactly project Natalie, Bob or Sophe, however. I'll go for a 6" wet, heavy snow storm with coastal flooding.

Knowledge of future events can influence the analysis of the story arc at the moment, but long term projections shouldn't be made unless something is taking place that directly impacts. Now, it can be argued everything impacts the end, yes, but what's the point of having a week by week thread if the whole season is to be summed up at once? Now, who else is picturing Kat in her pink hoodie dancing to "Mama Said Knock You Out"?

Who is mommy shown as attracted to? "Naked" tarzan. Damn hussy. I think Colton's story is significant at this point, not a winner, but his arc does seem to inform the course of this season.
