Partners follows two architects — Charlie is straight, Louis (Urie) gay — whose friendship has lasted longer than either of their romantic relationships and almost seems like a weird marriage. When Charlie decides to propose to his girlfriend (One Tree Hill‘s Sophia Bush), Louis’ neurotic attempts to be supportive nearly result in the breakup of his own relationship.
The pilot is being directed by sitcom vet James Burrows.
Brandon Routh is set to play the boyfriend of Michael Urie‘s character in CBS’ comedy pilot Partners.
The 32-year-old Chuck and Superman Returns star will take on the role of a “former alcoholic, club-hopping model, now a sober, vegan nurse,” according to Deadline.
The show centers on longtime friends, business partners, and architects Charlie, who is straight, and Louis (Urie), who is gay.
Sophia Bush will play Ali, Charlie’s fiance, who’s a jewelry boutique owner.
English actress Lucy Davis and Sherri actress Elizabeth Regen have also been cast in the show. Regen will play Ro-Ro, Charlie and Louis’ colorful assistant. Brit Davis, who starred on the original British version of The Office, will play Renata, droll bookkeeper for Charlie’s fiancé Ali ( Bush), a jewelry boutique owner.
