So... this season was okay and definitely better than the last few, but it still wasn't THAT balanced.

I'm surprised that CI, Nicaragua or even Micronesia are above it - they felt as or less balanced than OW. Interesting.

Maybe because SOME of the confessionals are like 1-star quality... like HEY, WE GOT A TARP! omg yay! then cut to another cutscene, but in One World, it felt as though that when someone has a confessional, it's very REMARKABLE (aka Chelsea's long morality confessional, then she gets a 1 confessional, even if Alicia is LIKE OHMAHGAWD. I'm awesome then next OHMAHGAWD. They're dumb) so really it all depends on content, but we don't know if they're just mixed in to milk most of the experience or if they're even consequential.

So it makes ONE WORLD more of a QUALITY-CONFESSIONAL season rather than a HEY, GURL, HEY confessionals other imbalanced season might showcase. =S

I think One World feels more balanced because instead of using a confessional to show certain people's thoughts and personalities, it used interactions between different players. Like Kat and Tarzan got roughly the same amount of confessionals as Edna did in South Pacific, but Kat and Tarzan were two of the biggest characters in One World, while Edna was barely present in South Pacific. And even though they barely got higher than an average of one confessional per episode, I could see either one being brought back for an All Star season, and they wouldn't be a random wtf pick like Amber was either. Kat and Tarzan's thoughts and actions were shown through various scenes with other players, not through confessionals.

And Leif for example got the same amount of confessionals as Whitney and less confessionals than Purple Kelly, but I feel like we got to know Leif better than either of those two through conversations and scenes he was in. I mean, yeah, he was the token UTR person all season, but he was still kind of semi present throughout the season, unlike PK or Whitney. Like in the episode where Bill was voted out, Leif only got one confessional while Mike got two, but I feel like Leif was more present in that episode than Mike was.

I've been re-watching RI lately and I just thought I'd let you choke know that some of the confessionals count is wrong that season - Matt had only 1 confessional in E2 (it wasn't even spliced so that the 10 seconds rule could apply) and David has 3, not 2 in E3. jsyk

Also, Russell had 4 instead of 3 in his exit episode and Krista had 3 in hers while on RI.

I'm honestly shocked that so many of these are wrong.

I can't believe there are winners with lower confessional numbers/worse edits than Danni. I recently re-watched Guatemala and I thought her edit was terrible. Like, that is NOT a season where you can go back to see how the winner won, because the edit gave us nothing.

Well confessional-wise is probably the only way Danni is above so many people. Overall edit-wise I bet Danni would be in the bottom three with Natalie and Vecepia.

And maybe I'm more sensitive to this since I think she played one of the best games in the history of the show. I'm all for winners not being super obvious, but her edit was just unacceptable.

Agreed on all counts, her game was amazing. She may have done little strategy talk on purpose, but we could have at least seen her socializing more.

UPDATE: Steve had 2, not 3 and Rob had 8, not 6 (no idea how this one got wrong) confessionals in E7, which would put his total up to 91, if the future counts are correct. Holylol what a bloated winner's edit.

Julie also had 3 instead of 2 in the merge eppy.

Give up what exactly? I was re-watching the season and simply thought I'd let chokehold know that some of it was wrong, plus I don't really feel like digging the old RI confessionals thread - this is clearly easier.
I'm almost done and there have been a lot more mistakes in the next few eppies, so after I finish re-watching it later today I'll post the final count - whether it gets eventually fixed or not is not up to me and I don't really care that much.

Thanks for the heads up evans! JLK ran the confessional thread during R.I. and I've never personally checked them so those mistakes are possible, but for now I'm just going to leave the counts as they are, as I'm gonna trust that when everyone was watching live those mistakes would have been seen? If someone else validates your counts I'll switch them though. I'd go check myself but... that would mean rewatching R.I. which... yeah no thanks lol

No worries choke, the mistakes are mostly minor but some of them are pretty odd (e.g. Julie has 2 confessionals like 20 minutes apart yet for some reason it's listed as only one for episode 9) so if someone else could validate these it'd be great and helpful. I can assure you these are correct though, as I've double-checked all of them.

The following need re-ajustment as well:

E9 - Julie has 2, not just 1 confessional (like I've said, they're literally 20 minutes apart so I'm confused how this one got wrong).

E10 - Ashley has only 1.

E11 - Phillip has 6 instead of 3 (they're like 11 seconds apart so I can understand why this one was a mistake), Andrea has 6, not 4, Rob has 4 (not 3) and Grant has only 2 (no idea where the 3 came from).

E12 - Rob has 6, not 5, Ashley has 5 instead of 4 and Ralph has 3 (not 2).

E13 - Rob has 12, not 10.

E14/Finale - Phillip has 5 (not 6) and Rob has 14, not 13, putting his total up to 96. Alien

I was also wrong about Russell and Krista (accidentally counted their final words) - they have the same as they did before.

These are the finalized totals (the bolded ones are the ones I've corrected):

I'm in agreeance, just watched Judd's boot episode and it's her first truly *strong* episode and it showed how great she was strategically and socially.
