I didn't understand firing her in the first place, that was WHAT THE LITERAL FUCK?!?!?. She had the fucking groups, of course she was going to suck. I think she's one of the better mentors, I think if she does come back she's probably going to get the girls or just 12-30s if they just decide to fuck it and just do a three judge tandem.

Britney is reportedly very close to signing a $15 million deal. They have several other women lined up, and were waiting to confirm Britney first so they can cast based on her. They are stuck deciding between going with one of Britney's rivals (Avril) or going with the total opposite and having a seasoned, older performer (Leann Rimes is supposedly on the shortlist).

Britney would be awful on a show like this. Everything she says is rehearsed and stilted as it is, so to have to do it live and actually give criticism? Yikes.

I wouldn't mind Britney actually. I know I don't want Rimes though. She's DioGuardi/Scherzinger-esque in her arrogance; although at least she can sing pretty well.

I'm hoping Mariah is their secret trump card. That they've had her signed up for a while and have just been holding out, waiting for Britney to say yes. A panel of LA/Mariah/Britney/Simon could be pretty good.

isnt Nick going through some health problems? that plus 2 young kids is probably a prohibitor for Mariah. I dont really have any interest in seeing her anyway. I'd love to see someone like Cher take the final spot.

Wouldn't she fit into the Paula role?

I think the final seat is going to LeeAnn Rimes, in a interview Eddie, her husband/bf or whatever said that she would be a great judge.

Which means I think this will be how the catergories will be assigned

LA:Boys

Simon:Groups

LeeAnn:Over 30s

Britney: Girls

Simon is DEFINITELY getting the groups this year. Between his constantly reminding people that he's the one who got One Direction to the finals, and insisting that good groups audition, he's taking them on himself. I also think L.A. will get the Over 30's. They're not sure of the two new judges' mentoring skills yet, so they'll give them the two easiest/most viewer-friendly categories. That seems to be a UK precedent - new judges always get either the Boys or the Girls. (The one exception being Tulisa who got groups in her first year, but only because there were three new judges that year.)
