I also found the "pop" sound the editors inserted after that line very interesting. And you can tell that the next thing Jeff says is edited in (doesn't happen after Kim's line), so it makes you wonder why the editors put that in. But since I'm forbidden to talk about winner spec until the merge (lol), this is just my observation on the player and has nothing to do with whether or not I think Kim is a good winner pick. So yeah, ha.

Posts: 655 02/23/12 06:30 PM Reply Quote More Recent Posts	Episode 2 Initial Ratings (Will just stick to VF numbers of the chart so I won't be posting them with my ratings) Manono Bill- UTR- Really not much here. He got a Confessional, but nothing really noteworthy. Colton- OTTN- So much negative SPV, but I still don't think it warrants NN. He was shown as a distraction and whiner. The only bit of CP I saw was his telling to Jonas/Leif/Troyzan "Hey, I've got the Idol" but I don't think there was enough to warrant a straight CPN. Greg- OTT- Really, just that scene of him being...odd. With the dancing and stuff, it solidified it. Jay- UTR- Once again, nothing really of note. Maybe he'll get some content soon. Jonas- MOR- I feel like he was a larger presence than one to warrant an UTR. Leif- UTR- No content here. Just shown as one of the "Misfit Alliance" Matt- INV- Lol. I hate giving INV's, but he should get it. Michael- MOR- He had that one scene after Tribal but other than that, nothing all that substantial. Troy- MOR- I don't think it was quiet enough to give him an UTR. Salani Alicia- OTTN- She had her little "If she was drowning, I'd look away" or something like that. Then, she was hanging' with her homegirl, Kat, probably being perceived as part of the lazy clique. Chelsea- CP- She had her bit after the IC with Kim but it was enough to give her a CP IMO. Christina- UTR- She had her post-TC reconciliation with Alicia but nothing else really. Kat- OTTN- She's lazy, bad at the challenge, etc. Perceived as a total dumbfuck Kim- MOR- Not enough to give her a CP unfortunately but still like her chances. Monica- CPP- She was perfectly aware of her situation. P for showing leadership and taking some initiative at the challenge. Nina- CPN- I wanted to give her an M but there was just a bit too much of an N skew. Sabrina- MOR- MOR border CP? Top Contenders: Kim, Chelsea Good: Jonas Still In: The Rest. Out: Alicia, Colton, Kat, Bill, Kourtney, Nina, Matt

Because as far as what they said in conversation Kim's comments were more CP than Chelsea's. She outlined to Chelsea WHY they needed to stick with the plan, explained to Colton why they couldn't have him around their camp in a strategic sense, and both of her TC responses seemed complex as well. not that it changes what I think of their respective winning chances, but Im just trying to get a better grasp of how these ratings are being assigned. I can see them BOTH getting MOR but I'm not sure how Chelsea is getting CP rather than MOR when her one confessional isn't super complex: Chelsea – “All eyes are on Kat right now. We’re starting to look at the weaker players even if they’re in our alliance. I’m one of the strongest people on the tribe. So if we decide to start pickin’ off the weakest links, Kat will be our pick.” Also agreed with Shred that nothing about that comment is different than all the ones Sophie had last year that earned her MOR

Colton - OTTN5 - A cockier Cochran who is somehow even less aware of his own actions, getting on the nerves of both tribes. I may have been more willing to consider CP but for the second time we are shown him doing nothing while just about every other man is working. Greg - OTT1 - Dance puppet, dance! Jay - UTR1 - Escapes INV with a confessional about the DIY challenge. Jonas - MOR2 - Acknowledges that Colton is bad for the tribe, later is shown the Idol and tells us that Colton is no longer the first boot. Leif - UTR1 - Included in the Misfits alliance discussion. Matt - INV1 - Yikes. I'm keeping in the same contender category as last time though only because nothing damning was added onto last time. Michael - MOR3 - He doesn't actually get a lot of content but he continues to get good screentime (especially compared to the rest of the Frats). For whatever reason we keep seeing him. Troyzan - UTR1 - He kind of just went, "Whoa Colton has the Idol!" JEFF HATES US Alicia - OTTN3 - Trying very hard to be the "bitch" of the season. We now also find out that she is as lazy as Kat. Chelsea - MOR3 - I feel that Chelsea and Kim were one and the same this episode, discussing the boots and what it meant for their alliance. Christina - UTR2 - I think it is troubling that they did not let Christina speak regarding the Alicia incident. The recap didn't even bother to show why the argument had happened in the first place (Christina getting the women fire) and actually made Christina look like the instigator (the scene started with her loud "SHUT UP!"). I feel relatively safe writing her off. Kat - OTTN5 - This should be obvious. We are told that Kat is an embarrassment to women and members of her own alliance are ashamed that they included her. Kim - MOR3 - See Chelsea but given TCQs instead of confessionals. Monica - CPP3 - The P is obvious because she was singled out as being the only woman that did well during the challenge. I was going to give her MOR but her last confessional really laid out her predicament and gameplan. I agree with whoever said Monica reminds them of Tracy (S16). I can totally see her as either the smart, savvy underdog, or, if the women's tribe continues to be shown as "dysfunctional", the women's dying breath like Tracy was for the fans (imo). Nina - CP5 - Not necessarily a good CP, as she was complaining a lot about Kat, but she does tell us about her position in the tribe and we also learn a little about her background and how on the surface she SHOULD be better than Kat. Sabrina - MOR5 - She is given Russell amounts of screentime and nothing really meaningful out of it. I almost get the sense that Colton is going to go down in flames and drag Sabrina down with him as her story is almost entirely revolving around him. So if we decide to start pickin’ off the weakest links, Kat will be our pick.” The general strategy here is outlined to note that Kat is the weakest, and will be gone first should they go "rid the weak" route. There's a interesting insert noting that she herself is one of the strongest people on the tribe, however, this provides zero addition insight into her strategy or deeper thoughts. Kim, on the other hand, has no confessionals, but did recieve two TC questions (thanks Phoenix!): JP: Schpeel about how bad the women are doing then segues into what can you bring from your life?" JP: Kim, is part of what's going on because there's been an alliance formed? Kim - I think that's part of it. Does Kat bring life experience to the table? no, but i do think she's a good athlete. Do i think Nina has life experience? Absolutely. You know, she 's bringing different things to the table than Kat is and that's what we are weighing out here tonight. I agree these are at least CP-lite. I'll be hard pressed that these are a quality enough to be worth a CP. The second one most definitely isn't; the first one I can see pushing CP, but I do believe it falls short. Of course, maybe somebody can convince me otherwise. Also, Cfc the number of confessionals should not impact the rating. The quality of the confessional should.
