I DONT" - casual viewers, I'm sure I gave out a UTR5 because Chelsea was a narrator this episode. Very little, if any of her content was complex or introspective, so I can't give her an MOR. Visibility and ratings should be kept separate so that REAL MOR players, like Sophie, are not as easily dismissed as someone like Mick, who just narrated a lot and got MORs for doing so. I think it's a bit silly to add an NAR rating (because we have UTR as an under-utilized rating as it is), so I'm using UTR for narrators because even if they get a lot of visibility and confessionals, they're still speaking about things that really could've been said by anybody. This doesn't mean it's necessarily BAD for them. I mean, in Chelsea's case, she was chosen as pretty much the sole narrator for the women's tribe this episode, rather than sharing the love with some of the others, so that's not BAD for her. I just think we need to start using UTR more efficiently, and we need to stop being so liberal with MOR, because in doing so, we're gonna lump too many different edits together and it hurts someone like Sophie who would otherwise have been much more highly analyzed.

Also, don't take "Under the Radar" literally. It's original meaning was "Under the Radar", but now it's real meaning is "Not complex". Give, I personally don't think Chelsea was UTR. I bet you 5 season ago, people would be flipping a shit at the fact we gave Tarzan an OTT1. I mean, hell, Chase got a UTRP2/3 on that episode where he was shown doing was tell a his extremely heartfelt sob-story that everybody fell in love with. And we gave him a UTRP because there weren't any confessionals. tl;dr, any combination of rating, tone, and vis are possible (bar INV). So UTR5, CP1, OTTP1 are all fair game. No editor is sitting around going "I'm going to hide/ignore this character by showing them nonstop throughout this episode. I'll probably show this hidden/irrelevant person more than anyone else." With the women shown whimpering and distressed, it is inconceivable that there were no confessionals from the men along the lines of providing succour because of it being the right thing to do or even because it would be good strategy. In my mind, the fact that the only confessional shown was Matt playing hard ball means that the editors do not want the men to have either the high moral ground or a strategic tie-in with what happens later. It would have been very easy to have the winner, if he were male, say something appropriate or even show him as part of a group while someone else voiced-over. The fact that such a scene was omitted leads me to draw certain conclusions. Unless a male winner is intended to be toned N (and that is very difficult now with Matt gone and with Colton a probable distraction), it seems improbable to me that the editors would edit any of the men in this way if they had won.

I have to agree here. There were several chances for the editors to make the men look better (and the women worse) during the storm. That and the fact that the men's storyline have been extremely weak even with this TC episode make a women winner seem more the likely.

So they changed the system to suit their misconceptions.

I wish the rest of Edgic would do the same. Also, I don't get how you can be so adamantly against a high-visibility player getting a UTR when you gave Nina an overall UTR just because you think she had no impact.
