Jess is another slam-dunk from Zooey, who usually plays characters who are more down-to-earth and cerebral but this Holly-Golightly-meets-Liz-Lemon angle absolutely works (especially for me as Zooey's always reminded me of my BFF and Jess' personality is EXACTLY like her). It's too bad the show overall is bland as all get-out, the three guys are pitifully one-dimensional, and in an era when trigger-happy networks torpedo good shows before their time, this one won't last five weeks.

Sucks because some great shows have been canceled in the past that could have gone on to have a great run had they been allowed.

It's like The Big Bang Theory minus the lulz and the science. ETA: I spent the entirety of this pilot thinking I was watching David Krumholtz's brother in the role of Nick...but it's just some random actor. I feel betrayed. Zooey, as always, is love. I'm not so sure her charm and quirkiness are going to be enough to save this show from being axed unless things get better pretty fast.

I think I like the roommate who was recently broken up with (by the waitress from Always Sunny!) but unfortunately the other two suck. A lot. I was really surprised by all the bad acting. But I'll still watch it for the amazing hilarious glimpses of my lovely Zooey.

I think Zooey Deschanel is a cutie but the show sucked. The worst part is I will probably still end up watching it because it sits between Glee and Raising Hope. I hope I can finish the first episode on my next attempt tomorrow night and that the series grows on me. That, or it gets moved/cancelled quickly.
