That was pretty sad, I think.
And, Jack is developing Parkinsonism?

Whoa...they really killed Borgia!

Where's the L&O thread? I was kind of surprised that they killed her off in that way. The actress who played her quit. I think it's stronger than the way they got rid of Selena though (the character was fired for being too much of a crusader and then asked if it was because she was a lesbian).

This thread is it, I'm afraid. I was surprised myself to see no other dedicated thread. The actress quit? I did not know that. Pretty brutal ending; it was hard for me to concentrate on the jurisprudence piece after her abduction and death.

I'm surprised there hasn't been a L&O thread until now. Jack McCoy is in the banner collage.
I haven't watched L&O since Robbinette's last guest starring stint earlier this season. Haven't been too interested since Abby quit anyway. |

McCoy has just gotten too cranky...
I think they need to give him a young, male ADA, just to make it a little different. |

The make-up crew did a good job with Borgia. I was completely grossed out when they showed her in the trunk. Law and Order is not the same without Jerry Orbach. Hopefully they will do a better job casting the new ADA.

Quote: I love Sam Waterston and started watching L&O because of his casting (though I"ve caught up on the Michael Moriarity eps as well), but you may be right. It may be time for a recast here. How about a female Sam with a male ADA? |

'xactly, Douglass.
That is what they need to do to change it up a little. |

Re: Angie Harmon - most beautiful ADA ever | ||

I'm just guessing but I think McCoy holds the record for the longest lasting character of all. He is due to move on and be replaced.
This current fiasco in which he is involved has all the markings of his swan song. It is similar in some ways to the way in which the first DA (Michael Moriarity) made his exit. I never found Borgia to be very interesting or attractive. Angie Harmon played the most interesting and attractive ADA they ever had. She was not at all believable in her role, but the fact that she was a drop dead gorgeous hardball prosecutor from Texas and pro-death penalty was almost too much to take. Angie Harmon may well be one of the most beautiful actresses ever. I'd love to see her come back. They did a crossover with L&O and 3rd Watch, didn't they? The lady ADA's rl husband (Jason Seahorn?) appeared on 3rd Watch. Did they ever appear on air together? |

This is what I wrote about this episode:
That was a shock they actually went as far as they did and actually killed off Lexi! We knew one way or the other, she was going to be gone after this episode, but I thought what they would have done was have her alive, but so badly traumatized that she was forced to quit the DA's Office and go on disability.         Anyway, these killers (Victor and Ricky) were sick, and the way they killed Lexi was gory to say the least (though we did find out Lexi's parents lived in Connecticuit). Although I'm sure Jack would have loved to take Kevin Almonte (Richie Coster) to trial, I'm sure at the least he was killed by the men who killed Lexi so they would have that murder charge in addition to the other charges that came about.         It was fitting to have the state Attorney General's Office then take the case away from Jack at the end, especially given Jack nor anyone else in the DA's Office would have been able to properly prosecute this case, at least in the eyes of many. The way Jack managed to bend the rules to get the killers of Lexi on the stand was great as well.         This was a great, yet at the same time very sad way to close out the season given the way Lexi was killed off.         Speaking of Lexi being killed, I'm suspecting given that in the past Dick Wolf has said the biggest regret he had was killing off the Claire Kincaid character 10 years ago (actually seven and a half since Claire's death was not officially revealed until "Sideshow" two and a half years later), I'm suspecting further that Annie Parisse only quit because she could tell she'd otherwise have been forced off the show, and I don't think if that was the case it was Dick Wolf's decision, but rather that of NBC-Universal President Jeff Zucker and/or NBC Entertainment Head Kevin Reilly, who in either case may have wanted a bigger "name" who has a built-in fan base of 18-34 year olds taking over the role to try and reduce the average age of the "L & O" viewer since going into this season, that was 52.1 years of age and ad buyers have an extremely unhealthy obsession with those 18-49. |

If the National Enquiror is to be believed Annie quit because she thought the producers were jerks. The same article also said that NBC was close to canceling L&O but didn't because they are 4th place and have so little going on. I like the Sam character. I say give him a male ADA to spice things up a bit.

yeah, just went to the web site to check that. I knew sargeant wasn't right.
ETA: but I was right. It's her 13th year. McCoy has been a character for 11. |

For me, the character change needs to come on the "Order" side. I've never gotten into Ed Green, and I'm not loving his pairing with Fontana.
The shows were pretty weak this season. Still, in honor of Lenny Briscoe, I watch. |

Re: Yeah | ||

Come to think of it, Ed Green never added anything to the show. His acting was always fairly weak.
Eleven years and thirteen years? I guess it's time for both of them to go. |

That does suck. However, when Dennis first came on, I was hoping for a mobbed-up-esque cop...one you were never quite sure if he was on the take. I also hoped for more Chicago referrences. I did like his interaction with Michael Impreolli (sp??). Oh well...I'm sure NBC will find a way to shoot ir's only good horse sooner or later.

Angie Harmon was the best of the bunch. I never really believed her as an ADA, but she was so beautiful that I never cared.
Does anyone know why she left? She isn't doing any major projects now that I can see. So, I'm guessing it was the producers' decision more than hers. What a shame. She was so mesmerizing to watch and to listen to that I'd love to see her in any role at all. The only thing that makes sense to me is that having been recently married, maybe she wanted to take some time off to have kids? |
