Uh... it may just be me, but was there Captain Jack cock as well? Discussion about such may cross into spoilery stuff however...
On that note, why is OK to discuss US shows when they air, but not UK ones? I think I know the answer, but I thought I'd ask the question... |

As I said upthread, I was told that once it's aired anywhere in the world, it's not a spoiler anymore. We were just being considerate since most people
here are from the US, and don't want to download the episodes for various reasons.
That aside, tonight's episode was almost as scary as Blink. This is great TV. I hope it stays this way. I'm not missing Tosh or Owen at all. The new secondary characters are all fantastic, too. Especially Ianto's brother-in-law. "He's a Queer!" "Oi!" Ha. And yeah, from very far away, there was definitely Captain Jack full frontal : ) |

Lol, that despicable discussion about weeding out the expendable children had my eyes welling up. Little did I know that that would be the least of it.
Oh fucking shit! How dare the show take away one of the main things it has going for it... they better fix it by the finale or I suspect a lot of fans will be done. |

Fucking Christ, this show is brilliant. The ending seriously got to me:
I can't wait for the final hour. |

Oh and btw,
(Blah blah, spoiler for eppy 4) (Spoiler-free portion) On the flip side, the actress who plays Gwen has a very strong x-factor. Gwen isn't exactly a stunning beauty or the best written character in film, but the way she is conveyed made her an extremely accessible character from day one. She started being more likable after the cheating bullshit and sexual tension with Jack and she committed to Rhys once for all, and she hasn't stopped since. I would say Gwen carries the show as much as Jack does. Anyway, I am really enjoying Torchwood as a mini-series this season on the whole. I think the show has hit its stride in terms of pacing and tension. Very 24-esque indeed, except more dramatic... and that is a very good thing! |

Regardless |

Jack is the weak point of this show, in my opinion. I feel the actor overacts in almost every scene, his acting/actions never quite fit the scene or situation
correctly/adequately. Fortunately, people like Gwen, Ianto, Tosh, and even Martha off set his being overdramatic enough for me to enjoy and watch the show.

Oh my.
I just want to hug my TV. And kill some politicians. What an amazing week of Torchwood. I really don't know what to say. Here's hoping BBCA don't cut too much of it. |

I downloaded and watched the whole thing in a marathon. It was incredibly intense, and every time I thought things were going well, they shifted. That said, I
originally thought Lois would act like Rupesh did, though I have to say I quite dig her character. Bridget was fantastic, and Agent Johnson was fabulous.
And I'm a fan of Gwen's as well. She wasn't Toshiko by any means, but I like her as a character very much. Is it true that Eve Myles is pregnant? |

Yep.
I wondered and went googling. She wasn't as toned as she was in Seasons 1 and 2 and the camera kept skipping over her body at different points, but it's also possible that she just gained weight, as the articles about her pregginess implied she got up the duff after the filming of CoE... Personally loving the fact that female characters have bums in UK programmes... Jack's daughter=mmmmmmmmmmmmm |

That was an all around great series television. I alternated between love and hate, but that's only because the writers so easily manipulated me.
Did anyone else love it whenever Lois would say her name? I don't know why, but it just tickled me every time. |

Yeah, Lois' name was in Schmirnish.
If I had to watch this on BBCA, I would definitely tape it and ff through the commercials. That could ruin parts of it. |

Just watched the final Torchwood.
My heart weights very heavy for what the writers made the Captain Jack Harkness character do. A part of me just can't love him anymore.....but he did save the day, at such a damning price. He's now turned into a lost and tortured character. I just don't see how redemption can be found for him. I understand he did what he had to do, I don't think I could have done it. But for a man who has lived so many lives, I guess he was the only would could have made such a sacrifice. This was a most excellent Torchwood event. Charged with emotion that surely touches every viewer. A dark and brilliant story the likes of which I hope not to see again anytime soon. |

I hated the fake outs with adding people to Torchwood. Anybody else agree? I mean I understand that with the concept of the miniseries season that they
couldn't really add a new person unless they did it right in the beginning and had them broken in as they did the season. As much as Gwen/Ianto/Jack were
able to do a lot in the episode, they still needed help and would have been very lost if they hadn't had the Martha replacement there.

I think RTD was intending to have Martha and Mickey on the the team, but I believe both actors were busy with other work. I know Freema Agyeman had a role on
the UK version of Law and Order. I liked Lois, even though events falling into place exactly like they did was a huge stretch. Still, if Torchwood does come
back for season 4, she would be good in the Ianto role.

Yeah, I've read somewhere they wanted Freema but she jumped at the chance to be on a Law and Order (don't blame her, considering how well they do),
causing him to make a Martha-Light. I blame Dr Who having to do the reset, preventing Torchwood from really doing something big.
