I hate Gwen because I don't like many things about her character or her character's choices. I can't stand Owen either. I thought it was hilarious to find this thread and find so many also hating the two. LOL I'm less sure of what I hate about Owen that Gwen but Gwen strikes me as too much of self righteous prig and her taste in that pig of a husband! UGH! Yeah for Season 3. Yay! for more Spike, er, Capt John!!

Spoiler [+] I hate to lose those characters but at the same time I thought their last scenes together were great and the final scene with Tosh and her video made me all weepy. Even though I am worried about what the future of the show will be without Tosh and Owen it was fairly obvious that working at Torchwood was an extremely dangerous job and it was hinted at all season that we would lose people (Ianto mentioning that they all die so young. Jack's flashbacks showing how he became the leader of Torchwood:Cardiff). Not sure that Gray was handled all that well. Sort of a weird story line but meh. Still liked the episode overall.

Spoiler [+] I cried a little when Owen was about to die and he was screaming and Tosh told him to stop because he was breaking her heart. Aww. It was very sad that they had to die. Honestly, it made sense for Owen to go because he was already dead and they couldn't do much else with him. Tosh, well, they never did anything with Tosh in the first place. Which means I'll miss Owen a lot more because he was actually around, having lines, interacting with people. I love his sort of brotherly rivalry thing with Ianto and how after Owen died, the first time, Ianto became more of Owen's step-daddy. (Because Jack was Owen's father figure, and Ianto's hitting that.) Ianto became a lot more protective of Owen and on more than once instance (Fragments, Exit Wounds), Ianto is the first person to ask about Owen's location/well-being. It was extremely sad to see the crew reacting as they packed up Tosh and Owen's belongings and updated their files. But who was Tosh kidding in that after-death video when she said Owen never knew she loved him? She told him like 8 times when he died the first time and she's been painfully obvious the whole show! Oh well. Rest in peace Owen and Tosh, and I hope your replacements don't suck.

Even in that last scene from this past weekend's show, when she turns to her husband and says ' lets talk about what you want', she then proceeds to break down then tell him all about her latest case. I dont like her because there was no useful for reason for the writers to pencil in sexual tension between her and Jack, except to send a signal to the audience that Jack is open for business to all kinds. (He and Ianto's sex scene this week, which should have been hot, was just clumsy.) Most of all, I dont like Gwen because I know damn well what happens in the finale!

I liked how they revealed to us how everyone other than Gwen joined Torchwood. What got me confused was the Toshiko flashback when she got arrested for that sonic modulator-thingy. Pardon me for being naive, but why weren't those asshole kidnappers/extortionists brought in as well? Probably doesn't matter anyway. I appreciated the fact that they revealed why that stupid pterodacyl was in Torchwood in the first place. I hate Captain John Hart for those bombs and his revenge coming up in the finale. Jealous, much? I can't wait for the season finale next week! I don't want any of them to die; I like everyone there, (except for Rhys, that fat bastard).

Most of the flashbacks are right in character and they range from horrifying, like the 1999 Torchwood slaughter, to frothy romance, like the first meeting between Ianto and Jack.

And somebody (Toshiko's mum) finally pronounced her name right. That's been bugging me since this show started. And unfortunately I've really grown attached to Owen this series.

As for the newest episodes airing on BBC Am: The 'why they joined' was interesting. That the climactic events are due to a spurned snogging is a huge let down. WTF is up with the focus on snoggery? If that's all the show is going to be then, literally, screw it. The show was fun while it was about story and character.
