Both had appropriate dramatic builds to them. For a non-regular viewer (that's the key), the finale was an awful choice because he/she isn't invested in the characters. To them, who cares if Sawyer and Juliet reuinte in purgatory--they weren't around for the journey.

After that, the show just got too complicated for a lot of non-viewers who are voting to follow. They'd almost have to use Ab Aeterno or Across the Sea, and with those taking place so far in the past, they would have been weird submissions anyway.

All of those people above were beat by actors from Breaking Bad, which is an infinitely better show than Season Six Lost. Lost wasn't beat by Top Chef, but by actual quality television.

Of course I'm gonna bitch about the lack of wins especially for Michael/Terry and Damon/Carlton. Complete bullshit. LOST won Best Drama its first season back when the smoke monster was slithering its way around. The Emmys are not afraid of science fiction on major networks; for instance Lindsey Wagner won Best Actress In A Drama Series for fucking Bionic Woman. They are however averse to recognizing sci-fi that does not get big ratings. Which is why X-Files and Lost was nominated for Best Drama and Buffy and Battlestar Galactica were not.
