It would really make my day if Matthew Fox were snubbed in the leading actor category to make room for John Noble in Fringe.

John Noble should totally get a nomination, and I only watch bits of that show. He's riveting. Is he going for lead?

He should be lead, although they might bump him to supporting to make room for Joshua Jackson for lead (who was also quite good this season, actually). They have almost the same amount of story time.

I have a feeling they'll put him in supporting.

I guarantee there are other performances that deserves nominations more than Fox, but I have a weird feeling they'll give it to Fox anyway. The nomination, that is.

Once you go Jack...

Last year had some surprises with Gabriel Byrne and Simon Baker, so there's probably a fair chance Fox gets in that category, especially since this season was really geared towards him, and the End in particular (Which they'll probably use for his reel) was a bunch of Jack moments

I doubt he'd win against the competition but he sure as hell deserves a nomination this year.

"Lost" has the advantage in that its the final season and its the final chance to award it and its actors. I wouldnt be surprised if Lilly, Fox, Emerson, O'Quinn are nominated.

But the Shield was never a powerhouse in the Emmys.

I have nothing important to add to the initial question, but I will say this: I miss LOST. Sure I can re-watch seasons 1-5 on DVD, but it's not the same.

Evangeline does not deserve a nomination based solely on her work this season - she does (in my opinion) deserve a nomination based on her overall body of work on the show and has a slim chance because of the fact she has gotten so close before.

M. Fox without question deserves the nom and for once, momentum seems to be on his side and looks like he will nab it. He should win, I just don't think it's in the cards.

O'Quinn and Emerson are sure bets and seem to be the favorites for the win... as they should be.

It will be a two horse race between Mad Men and Lost for Best Drama. I however, wouldn't bet on the "Return of the King" effect.

I don't see how both Terry O'Quinn and Michael Emerson can both be the favorite to win the same award. I'd think O'Quinn would far and away be in the lead, based on the more complicated role this season AND the lack of Ben this year.

I would agree. Emerson is a great actor, but Terry O'Quinn had so much to work with this season and he delivered on all of it.

I don't either. He definitely deserves it. This was his year to shine imo. It was like watching a different character... which is why TOQ would probably get a nomination over Foxy. As for Michael Emerson, I'd give it to him based on that ONE scene with Ilana. (because no one else will have me) Just thinking about it makes me sad.

I'm not objective though. Go Foxy! :p

Well, TOQ will more then likely submit for Supporting Actor as opposed to Fox who will shoot for Leading Actor. I'd be shocked if Matt didn't get the nom this time around.

And a strong portion of the articles/polls I have looked at have Emerson AND O'Quinn as the top dogs right now. Remember, you only submit one episode to be evaluated. On an emotional level Dr. Linus was as good as any episode anywhere this tv season. Add that on top of him being the "defending champ", he has a good shot.

To be clear though, I'm pulling for TOQ as he w/o question deserves it based on his overall work this year.

It is RIDICULOUSLY hard to get a "best actor" nom, much less win if you're a sci-fi show. The academy hates those type of shows. Matthew Fox deserves one, but I'm not sure he'll get one. (I don't think Patrick Stewart ever got one for ST:TNG) Evangeline has a chance I think. Most likely LOST is a shoo-in nomination for best drama.

I want so many to win for best supporting actor. Can we have an all-LOST ballot, please? I think Terry's almost guaranteed the win, but I'd love to see Nestor Carbonell and Josh Holloway nominated as well as Emerson (Josh was superb after Juliet's death). I'm bummed Welliver didn't put in. He wiped the beach with Mark Pellegrino, IMO.

Just so you know, I do know they are in different categories. What I was trying to convey (badly) is that Jack evolved so much through the years that he seemed like a different character this season (and I LOVED IT) but Locke was two different characters in the same season.

I don't mean to sound negative re: Foxy because everyone knows I think his acting was brilliant this season. I hope Lost gets many nominations. They damn well deserve it.
