Don't read if you don't want to know. SPOILER WARNING: Spoiler [+] What a finale! Poor Doakes. To go out like that, and then to have your family and colleagues think you were the Bay Harbor Butcher. With Dexter sitting there smugly watching the proceedings. I can't believe how my feelings about Doakes and Dex did a complete 180 degree turn in the finale. Dex may be a "good guy" in some ways, but his ego and delusions of grandeur are out of control. He killed Lila because she "killed an innocent man", but Dexter trying to destroy Doakes was somehow okay? It's the first time in the series that I have been rooting against Dex. Although I'm sure I will be rooting for Dex again when season 3 starts. Anyway, this felt like a series finale more than a season finale. Everything wrapped up pretty neatly. I think LaGuerta will be the one to go after Dex now, and ultimately I think she will be the one to take him down at the end of the series. I also heard a rumor that next season might follow the books storyline more closely (possibly book 2). Overall this was a fantastic season, but I'm very interested to see where they take the show from here. I shouldn't...but...I count three main characters MIA by season's end-by death, dismemberment or relocation. Must be Lundy that is relocating. Could it be LaGuerta?

There's next to NOTHING left to wrap up. Actually...I don't think there is anything at all. All of his daddy issues are gone. LaGuerta accepts Doakes as the Butcher and grieves his loss and his ability to trick her. Everything...Ah well, it still is great :). Next season I guess it's a new beginning. Seeing Dexter forge a new path in his murders.

Spoiler [+] I like that there are times where I can dislike Dexter. That's a sign that the character is being well written. Poor Lila, she was like SMG in Cruel Intentions- an evil bitch but amazing. It did feel like a series finale because everything was wrapped up, but there's still Deb to moan about Lundy going to DC. I'm sure we'll get an earload about that.

I think so too, especially because after watching them back to back, it's the best way to watch this conclusion of season 2. P.S. I didn't read this thread yesterday because of possible spoilers, Posters are not spoiling it for you, you are doing it to yourself by reading a thread about a show that has the last 2 episodes leaked.
