Yeah Angel was boring in S3 and better in "Angel". The reason why the sex amped up was becuase they were in college of course :)

I've also been watching Angel (two episodes a day on TNT) and it's really uneven, it's just missing the characters because the cast is so small at
the beginning.
I got that they were having more sex but it became a more adult show with all the overtly sexual references and plot lines (the stupid sex house). |

Angel actually gets better each year.

They should have just ended it after season 5 when all they could come up with is shit story-lines and character progression that made you hate each and every single one of the main cast. |

Originally, it was supposed to end in season 5. Joss had to write a season and series finale in case the show didn't move to UPN. Even though seasons 6 and
7 weren't great, I would've beyond hated it if the show ended with Buffy dying.

Despite its flaws I really liked 7. Great way to end things. The 1st Evil was the perfect final Big Bad. 6 was a great dark turn too. Nice having someone other
than Buffy save the day too.

Season 6 was repulsive on so many levels and season 7 wasn't as repulsive but Buffy turned into a bitchy slunt and the plot holes were so huge that you could drive a semi truck through them. |

I'd still take shitty seasons over the show ending with dead Buffy. My only issue with The First Evil being the Big Bad is that there was no real way to
beat it because it would always be around.

I think the final episode in season seven was a good ending (except for them killing Anya, that sucked). And then Spike in the last season of Angel was
fantastic.

The last season of Angel was amazing. Maybe even the best. I think so many people checked out by then after stupid Connor that they never came back. Almost no
weak episodes in the last year.

I didn't care for Ilyria (sp) or the entire killing off of Fred (not that I floved her or anything). The puppet episode was awesome.

That puppet episode was hysterical. Puppet Angel sewing himself up.

Smile Time was brilliant. I thought it would be retarded when they showed the previews, but it was amazing. I hated to lose Fred but Amy Acker did a great job
and it was really heartbreaking. I really love the "Why We Fight" episode from the last season, when Angel and Spike are on the sub in WW2.

the season 5 finale was perfect and it closed out Buffy's personal arc wonderfully. The subsequent seasons didn't really have any reason to exist
(although I'll admit I enjoyed them) and I thought season 7 was too ambitious a premise for what the show was. sorry guys, Buffy shoulda died.

I thought season 7 was the weakest and I just watched it a few weeks ago. The last few episodes were good and as always there were really good moments
scattered throughout. Caleb was a wonderfully evil bad guy.
But, too many scenes seemed like the writers were shoehorning the characters into really tough to swallow behaviour, culminating in the scene where Buffy gets the boot from her own house. It came off like fanservice for Buffy haters with Buffy just bossing everyone around and everyone taking turns telling Buffy how much she sucks. And Principal Wood was hugely unlikeable and a wasted opportunity - son of a Slayer, meh. |
