Warren was NOT a replacement for Tucker. Andrew was (hence why he's Tucker's brother). They couldn't get the original actor back so they recast with Tom Lenk but quickly changed the character to an all new one.
Warren and Jonathan were always part of the Troika. |

I miss Faith, and Wesley, and Lilah, and Anya. Damn you, WB! I'll just have to get revenge on behalf of Joss by seeing Serenity more than once.
Favorite episodes? Season 2's Passion, Season 4/Season 1 Angel's Faith arc, Anya's flashback episode (was that season 6?), Season 7's Conversations with Dead People. Good times. |

Giles was a very large hunk of lovin. After I got used to not thinking about him as the Tasters Choice dude.
I loved Andrew. The guy had some of the best lines the last season. |

Anya's Flashback episode is the Season 7 ep "Selfless," also one of my favorites.
Giles is great. I loved his midlife crisis moments duirng season 4, but my favorite Giles moment might be the very end of the second to last episode of Season 6 when he appears at the doorway of the Magic Shop to try to defeat dark Willow. |

Did they ever make the Ripper series in the UK? I know they were tossing the idea around, but that would have been awesome.
Thanks for giving me the title, Slacking. I used to know them all. ;) |

I never saw the show when it intially aired, but I've been catching up with the DVDs. I just started season five today. I'd have to say so far, the second season is my personal favorite. Season 1 was a little too goofy (though, "Angel" ranks up there with the greatest episodes) and season 4 strayed a little too far from the concept of the scooby gang, that, and Adam was kinda a boring villain.
So far my favorite episodes are "Angel," "School Hard" (the first appearance of Spike and Drusilla), "Innocence" (probably my favorite episode so far), and "Becoming." |

Re: Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Quote: Loved the episode, though it's slightly handicapped because it never explains how Anya got her fear of bunnies. I so wanted to know why. As for best villains, I'm gonna go with a tie between Spike/Dru/Angel and the Mayor. I think the first three seasons were the strongest due to good villains and stories. Season 1 was the beginning and The Master was a good first evil villain. He had that old-school vampire look to him, which was a good way to start. As I said before, I absolutely loved season 2. Spike and Dru were such great villains because they were funny and cared for one another. It was oddly sweet and you liked seeing them. And, Angel turning evil was great. Throw in Xander/Cordelia, Oz/Willow, Jenny's death, and Kendra, it was an amazing season. One of the best season finales too. Season 3 was also great. The Mayor was a great villain and the inclusion of Faith, a rebel slayer, was a new twist. She's Buffy's darker side. It's also interesting because it had episodes that were postponed due to it's potential school violence (Jonathan's attempted suicide and blowing up the school). While it obviously wasn't simple, they were so worried about the Ascension, and it was cool that the whole school got involved, but it almost did seem too easy. Oh, and Anya started, so it's all good there. Did she turn into an amazing character or what? Loved the sarcasm. I did not really like season 4. I'm never a fan of shows when they go from high school to college. For some reason, in high school, having it be somewhat confined makes it better. I really wasn't a fan of Riley, The Initiative, or Adam. Also, I know they were getting rid of him and I adored Tara, but I didn't like the progression of Oz. He seemed to turn into a really big douchebag. "Hush," though, was amazing. Creepiest.looking.villains.ever!!! Season 5 was odd. I didn't particularly like Dawn because she was really whiny and bitchy. Having Buffy fight a God was definitely interesting. It seemed like the final fight in that she couldn't really fight anything after that. I guess that's true because Joss said he wrote two series finales and that was before UPN picked it up. I'm so glad they didn't end the series with Buffy dead. That really would've sucked. I did like "The Body" because it was different. I wish they would've done more with Dawn as The Key. Maybe she could've had some powers. And, I think they could've done more with Dracula. Season 6 was dark and depressing. There were some good episodes ("Once More With Feeling," "Tabula Rasa," "Hell's Bells," and others), but it was just too dark. The Troika were funny and were great comedy villains, but didn't match up. The evil Willow thing was also not my cup of tea. It was done pretty well, just not my thing. I really enjoyed the final season. The First was a very interesting villain, and even though Sunnydale was destroyed, The First obviously still existed. Andrew was wonderful as the comic relief. I liked some of the Potentials towards the end (Vi - though she was really annoying at first, Chao Ahn, and Caridad). Faith's redemption, full circle, it was all nice. Caleb, though, was a male non-God Glory. I'm so glad they decided to only make Xander lose and eye and not kill as originally planned. While it would've been interesting and is like a horror movie where none of the main characters die (Scream 3, anyone?), it would've been depressing seeing any of the original 4 die. While some didn't like it, I liked Anya's quick death. It wasn't drawn out, and somewhat out of the blue, which was actually a nice touch for the finale. And I apologize for my fan-girl like rant on the series. I'll probably have more in the future. |

Quote: Yep, I'm loving Anya (it helps that Emma Caulfield is incredibly hot). Her and Xander are the perfect couple. Well, at least better than Cordelia and Xander. Season four just seemed like too much filler for me. "Beer Bad" and "Super Star" probably rank as my least favorite episodes. And you could tell that they couldn't make Adam an interesting enough villain when they killed him off before the season even ended. They probably should have left Walsh alive and made her the main villain for the season. Oh, and add "Hush" to my list of favorites as well. Also, the whole Willow/Tara relationship I'm not really buying. For starters, the actress who plays Tara isn't really all that attractive and I don't really see the connection between the two other than they're both witches. Willow should have went back with Oz, even if he was a werewolf. |

Re: Buffy the Vampire Slayer

To be fair, there are many gay people who dated and had relationships with the opposite sex before they came out or met someone of the same sex. It's funny because I read that they were deciding between Willow and Xander as to which one would be gay. Xander may have actually made more sense if you go back to some of his scenes with Larry in seasons 2 and 3 (it's too bad Larry died at the end of season 3; I liked him).
I love the scene with Tara and Willow in the season 5 episode "Checkpoint." It's when the council comes to check up on Buffy before they give her info on Glory. They interview her friends and one asks Tara and Willow about their relationship (he means their relationship with Buffy, but they think it's about the two of them). I like the progression from friends, to good friends, to gay-type lesbian lovers. |

I sure miss my Buffy and Angel. I know I should get the DVDs. Then maybe I could remember all the episodes you guys have mentioned. Wasn't the singing one the first time that Buffy and Spike actually kissed and began their 'romance'? I loved Spike so much. I guess I actually loved so many of the characters. Now I'm really, really missing Buffy. Who started this thread anyway?

Re: Buffy the Vampire Slayer

Larry first showed up in season 2. He was a jerk football player that the gang thought was a werewolf (we later find out it's Oz). Xander questions him about having a secret, and he admits he's gay. We see him a few times in season 3, many of which times he interacts with Xander and thinks he's gay. You see him get hit by the Mayor's tail in the season finale of season 3. When Amy is transformed back from being a rat, she's unaward a few years have passed by. She says she wants Larry to take her to the prom. Willow points out that a couple of years have passed, Larry's gay, and Larry's dead.
Willow tutored Percy in season 3 and then in season 4, at that college party, overheard him calling her a nerd. |
