You could ask if any Brits were watching it too, since it IS a British show.

The thing is the Brits are a year ahead of us.
That's the only reason I didn't ask. Sorry. Didn't mean to offend. |

I love Coronation Street over any other "soap" on television right now. All the American soap operas are so outlandish, and I love that Coronation Street sticks to the realism movement in theatre. There are no asides, and the characters are not all beautiful, rich models living in mansions.
Coronation Street is also the first soap to really tackle any social issue before any of the other soaps do; the Todd coming out of the closet has yet to be parodied across the pond. PS: I despise Shelley. She needs to get some balls and get rid of that asshole. |

It's just the typical "battered woman syndrome" with Shelley, isn't it? I mean I feel sorry for her to a point and then I'm like how bloody usless is she that she can't break free of Charlie? Or at the very least realize what he is doing to her??
This whole weight-loss thing is making me mental. How long do you give Sally's little trist? |

I hear that Shelley and Charlie stay together for quite a while, and things just get worse for her.
The only character more idiotic than Shelley is Katie. Her immaturity and stupidity never ceases to amaze me. "I know! I'll get pregnant. That'll solve all my problems." I really don't know what Martin sees in her. |

So do you watch during the week Drivniki? I missed Friday's show so I caught up today.
If you watch during the week then check back and we can chat. |

What happened to the woman (can't remember her name) who tried to kill Sunita?
& I'm still not sure about the whole "goth" angle they're trying to work with Sally's kid & her boyfriend. |

Yeah! We're big fans. Mr. AMAI's family have been watching for forever, and got me hooked.
Now the pair of us rarely miss an ep during the week, and if we do, we catch up on Sundays. Agreed re Shelley - how does she not see what her cover-ups of Charlie's nasty behavior mean? She's just that desperate to have a man. I know this is going to get worse before it gets better. Martin & Katie - I've been on their side for ages (while Mr AMAI scoffs, and worse), but her ploy to get pregnant is just so childish. Steve & Tracey & Amy - well, a happy little family to be, eh? I wonder how long it will take for Tracey to wear down Steve's defences? He's being a good dad to the nipper, but Tracey really seems to be much happier and even-keeled now that Karen's out of the picture. Danny & Frankie Baldwin - my new favorite couple! He's a riot - I love how he has a nickname for everyone and her by-turns tough and loving attitude hits the right note each time. Cilla - still makes me puke. But I hope Chesney can get into that fancy school on a scholarship. That storyline has kind of been put on hold with the whole dog fiasco, but I expect it will return eventually. That Webster woman and her affair with her boss? It just can't end well, can it? Love this show! |

Quote: Mya. She's in prison I guess. Won't that be a fun storyline when she gets out? IF she gets out. I love Danny Baldwin but I did catch wind of a storyline (by accident) and he gets into some BIG trouble. Never know though how long it'll be before we see it here. I was in a Yahoo room playing a game a few years back when someone made mention of Maxine's death. Of course I had no idea at the time what they were talking about. Then it came to fruition months later. |

my cousin in Scotland told me that there's BIG drama with the Martin/Katie storyline...
agreeance on Danny and Frankie Baldwin, and their sons are pretty good as eye candy (as far as this show goes)... |

Quote: I know what this is too, and it's not that far away. We used to run about 11 months behind the UK, but since they doubled up the episodes we have been catching up and are only 8 months behind. I love this show so much I watch during the week and then usually again on Sunday. Dork. As for the question of how long the Charlie and Shelley fiasco lasts, I have the answer, without too much of a spoiler, but won't post unless you want me to. |

No, don't post the spoiler. I came across it quite by accident and was a little disappionted.
Just how much more can he go out of his way though to embarass her? It's maddening. He is the one character I hate the most on ANY television program right now. Where do you guys see this Sarah/Scooter thing going? It appears to me he's more interested in playing Daddy to Bethany than he is in being boyfriend to Sarah? I think she's starting to figure that out. |

Yay! We're open!! Thanks for starting this tittiiies, it's great to have pals to chat with about this show.
We rarely miss an episode. Last night, Mr AMAI & I were both grateful the episode ended on a positive note. That Charlie is such a stinker! We figure he will definitely tell Shelley - the question is, will he do so publicly (in the Rovers) or will he tell her in the back room? My friend at work goes online and looks up what's happening months down the road. She's told me a few details (absolute shockers!) but I won't reveal anything here, since we don't have those spoiler tags. How about that Della woman showing up and telling Sally about how her affair with Ian ended? Sally ought to be worried not only that she'll be out of a job soon, but that she'll be sent packing in disgrace, with accusations that she stole money. Mr. AMAI theorized that maybe Justine is in cahoots with her husband, in some way, so that she doesn't have to service her husband sexually, the secretary/PA does it, and then when he's tired of the current one, they work together to lob the accusations and send the poor woman packing without notice, severance pay or a reference. It's definitely an odd situation, and Sally should be thinking in terms of leaving of her own accord rather than waiting for Ian to tire of her. Which, from the sounds of it, he will. Re Sarah & Scooter - odd pairing. Good observation about him seeming more interested in the little girl. Where did Adam go? I thought he was going to be Sarah's new boyfriend. This Scooter character seemed to appear out of nowhere. Did I miss an episode? |
