Shit. Less repeats, sure. But if the cliffhanger is as good as the creators are hyping it to be, waiting till November is going to SUCK. Why can't people just be patient? Nobody ever bitches about all the other repeats other shows have. ALL SHOWS have 22 episode orders throughout the season, meaning ALL SHOWS air just as many repeats as "Lost" -- yet this show gets the most crap for it.

Posts: 0 (05/10/06 9:55 PM) Reply Quote More Recent Posts Message Connection Block Invite	Repeats are not good for ratings. 24 used to have scheduling similar to Lost, and was on the verge of being cancelled before they switched to the January through May no-repeats schedule. Now it's a huge hit. There is so much on TV, and so much other entertainment out there, that networks can no longer rely on fans staying loyal to a show through the endless weeks of repeats. A later start means fewer repeats which will mean higher ratings and more seasons of Lost.

For the three clusters of eppys Damon has proposed, the first cluster would be airing starting in OCTOBER. I'd wager that the last group of Season 2 eppys (that we've been watching since March) will be scheduled to air so that the Finale will air the week before the Season Premiere. They'd be aiming to get that anticipation we're feeling now revved back up! IMHO (that and $1.00 will buy a soda from a machine in a mall), the three clusters of LOST will run October/November, January/February, and April/May. Gets all the Sweeps months in--and, mercifully, NO RERUNS!!

And with March Madness and all the other mid-season shows, that's also a good month to take off. October/November, January/February, April/May would work very well.

Don't interrupt season 2 with a rerun from season 1, unless that particular episode ties in directly with the next new episode.

He didn't say that I just inferred it from what he said.

Rerunning them doesn't mess up the continuity or flow of the show. Lost loses momentum when it starts, stops, and then goes back to start once again. I get bored and often miss the reruns, I believe the ratings show a drop in viewers on those nights. this is why 24 when to the format- it is eposodic.

Air 2 new episodes have a rerun aire another 2 episodes do a rerun, Air back to back episodes in one night have 2 weeks of reruns. I will cry if I have to wait till November to see the show especially if the finale is as great as we are hearing!

I want this show to have the chance to develope at the pace the writers and producers want it to develope. Something such as Fox did with Prison Break or does with 24 would work great. I rarely watch repeats...the ratings for it are too low on repeats and that brings it's ratings in a season down. :)Peggy
