The problem is that Sayid/Jin/Sun don't know where the Losties and the Others are. Sayid went to the fake camp. Michael led the Losties to the middle of the jungle. The Others took the Losties to a dock that wasn't near the fake camp.

Was the Black Smoke they saw really from Sayid?? Or was it the Hatch explosion(Eko's dynamite) smoke they saw?? I believe the timing was in line with the failed blast door attempt and was supposed to make us believe Sayid and Jin are on the opposite side of the island sorta deal.

I agree, Sayid should've seen "ambush before camp" written all over this. I think he gets overexcited about possibly being at war. He clearly wanted to jump in a shoot some Others.
I love, though, that if everyone just listened to Sayid, they'd still have the Other's leader in captivity. He's like LOST's Jack Bauer. |

Sorry..I'm a tad hopped up and Sayid really has it going on as far as brains, muscle, looks, and sixth sense. I lurve Sawyer but I think Sayid is the most useful.

Judging by the smile that Jack and Kate shared before they got blindfolded--I'm pretty sure all this was part of their plan. Of course they knew that Michael wasn't really taking them to the beach.

Since Sayid is the island electrician, why didn't they get him in the hatch to fiddle with the fuse box like Desmond did? He might have been able to override the system so the button wouldn't have to be pushed.
Stupid that Locke kept that map news to himself. Maybe Sayid could have figured how to short the system out so the door came down for closer inspection. Poor Sayid is super talented but his talents are going all to shit. |

But The Pearl hatch was being observed as well. What's to say that the same printouts that were printed there weren't also being printed someplace else? Maybe they could have zoomed in on what was being written in the log books. The possibilities are crazy! This is going to make me a basket case before next fall.
