Posts: 3469 (03/03/10 01:47 PM) Reply Quote More Recent Posts	I think 10 episodes is a tight fit, but I think they could make it work -- for GoT at least. The pilot supposedly ends at Spoiler [+] Jamie throwing Bran out of the window when Bran sees the twins having sex ,which is about ~80 pages in: Approximately 1/10 of the book. It will probably be harder with the later books when things get more complicated, and especially considering Storm of Swords being like 50% bigger than GoT. A lot of series have fewer episodes in their first season though, so if the series turns out to be a sucess and they continue past season 1 they might just do like 12-15 episodes per season or something.

I'm fairly certain if the first season does well they'll be inclined to extend the 2nd, and the 3rd obviously will need more than 10 episodes assuming we get that far. For season 1 I'm not concerned. I just want the show to do well and continue on. Also, George recently posted he's hit 1300 pages in A Dance With Dragons and has begun to unravel the Meereenese Knot which has been delyaing the 5th book for so long. I'm very optimistic it'll be completed this year with publication in winter (if they rush) or next spring.
