Evangeline Nominated for GG |
Lead | |
|
And not only was she nominated, but she was nominated for LEAD actress. Here's to hoping she wins, because I think she's improved from her first episode till now. She probably won't win because of the other talent in the category, but it goes on her resume.

Eva from the first few episodes in the first season to her body of work in the mini-season earlier this year is pretty stark contrast. While I'm not sure she deserves a nomination yet, how far she has come deserves acknowledgement.
Emerson absolutely deserved a nomination, though his will probably come after this current season. |

It's funny because I've kind of been trashing Lost and saying Heroes is teh roxx0rz, but in a weird way I kind of hope Lost wins some awards. Good on the old vet for pulling through against the upstart rookie, I say.
Although Lost isn't REALLY a vet, only being into season 3 and all, but still. |

I'm thinking LOST has a better chance for Emmys. It's filming style is more to their liking. So perhaps Michael Emerson will get a nod there.

Quote: You're probably right, but I think his work last season was far superior. His character is kind of one-note now compared to the "is he or isn't he an Other?" of last season. |

Quote: I hope neither LOST nor HEROES wins actually. LOST needs to be put in its place and HEROES needs to be saved from becoming another LOST (in its current state) by not becoming an awards darling just yet. I can see NBC getting high off of HEROES wins to the point where they start doing crazy shit like moving HEROES to compete against GREY'S ANATOMY and CSI and coming up with spin-offs like HEROES: MIAMI, HEROES: SPECIAL VILLAINS UNIT and HEROES: THE NEXT GENERATION (all to be aired on the same night as the original series of course). It would be the new MUST-SEE-TV Thursday. Blech. |

So, I didn't see the list of nominees. Was anyone else on Lost nominated for a GG?

Thanks for answering my question, Cindi. I can't believe Ben aka Michael Emerson didn't even get nominated! That's outrageous.

Re: Re: | ||

Cindi, and Aslanscubs I agree about Michael Emerson. He has been oustanding in season 3 thus far, and it borders on criminal that he wasn't recognized for his fine work.

What a witch! | ||

I can't believe Evangeline is saying this! She soooo dissing her fans! Read all about it:
Evangeline Lilly wants to quit Lost |

Re: What a witch! | ||

Sounds like she was having a bad hair day.
I sympathize. The hounding actors get from the media and fans can, indeed, be overwhelming. I get that it's part of the package--but even actors are people. They should be able to go shopping, or sip a cuppa at Starbucks, without being descended upon. Wouldn't take it too much to heart, Fluffy. The lady's worn down by admiration. (Glad she's not living in L.A.!) And all the shock and insurance paperwork and other hassles connected with the house fire--on top of shooting schedules--can't be easy for her. Give the girl some slack, OK? STH (also worn down by life, if not by fame) |

Is that the whole article? Did I miss the 2nd page? Because I certainly missed the part where she supposedly says she's going to quit the show if fans don't stop hassling her. She doesn't say anything of the sort. Sure, she wants some privacy sometimes. But that hardly equals what the article is accusing her of saying.
Seems like a case of something she said being twisted and blown out of proportion. |

Oh, the poor dear! She's thin, rich, on a very popular TV show, and has millions of adoring fans. What a rough life.
Sorry, but I hate it when actors/singers and such complain about their fans. They all know when they decide to go into the business that it's going to happen, and a lot of them probably get into it because they want the adoration. And then when people recognise them everywhere they go, they complain about it. Boo freaking hoo. |

I tend to agree with Cindidindi76 on this one. Actors know what they are getting into. But buyer's remorse should apply to all. If Evangeline wants to quit her show because she doesn't like the price of fame, oh, well. Other stars have bowed out of acting careers for this same reason.
Of course most of those actors show up again years later on Celebrity Fit Club, but we won't tell Miss Evangeline that, ok? |
