The title of this weeks episode is a line from The Wizard of OZ, and JPGramma pointed out in another thread that Henry Gale was Dorothy's Uncle's name. I've also read about a few other connections here: rob.orangejack.com/2006/0...ard-of-oz/

The wizard sends Dorthy on an impossible mission to retrieve the Wicked Witches broom. Ben sends Locke on an impossible mission to kill his own father. Both missions were expected to yield no results. However both succeeded. Now Ben is expected to show Locke the mysteries of the island. Dorothy expected to be sent home. However she found the man behind the curtain had no actual power. Will Locke find that out as well, with Ben?
Once Locke did as he was asked...he was invited to follow their tracks(the yellow brick road)...to The Others. |

probably not quite that simple...but we have asked numerous times...why don't these people seem to be trying harder to get off the island? Look at how no one would help Bernard put up a huge SOS sign? We've also discussed how most don't have something in the real world to really want to get back to. Michael was their driving force to get off the island...who has stepped up with anything else? They all seem very satisfied sitting on the beach and having Dharma food dropped to them. (except perhaps Sayid after Shannon's death) Dorothy was running from a bad situation back in her real world. She claimed she wanted to go home...but it obviously wasn't genuine until the end when she did wish herself back home. That said...I don't want the ending of Lost to simply be everyone reaching the point they want off the island so they make that happen by their wish.<g>. |

Juliet just wants to go home, and she has to complete a task for Ben before she can. Is he the man behind the curtain?? An epi was titled Not in Portland, very close to "not in Kansas anymore" Which just happens to be about our Juliet (dorothy perhaps). |

If the series finale is Juliet or worse, Kate, waking up from a dream, I will just vomit. If it's Charlie waking up from a nasty detox, I will be extremely mad. If it is Hurley waking up after electroshock, that might be tolerable, I guess.
