And now he thinks he owns the Island. He has whipped Locke (the best character of the show), into his submission, and yet let the Island whore Anal Lucia steps all over him. I wish the non-hatch dwelling people (which is about 99% of the survivors), have a mutiny and kill him. And shouldn't Sawyer be the new leader now that he owns the gun? The "There's a new sheriff in town" bit was a big let down.

I don't know if it's the writing or the actor, but I am going to go with the writing, because I don't remember hating him on Party of Five. In fact, most of the guys on the island are argumentative and pushy and refuse to listen to each other and all that stupid annoying shit Jack does. I REALLY used to hate Michael before he left, and I was astounded to see him in an episode of Dead Like Me recently where I liked him. I mean, they just waste so much time being stupid, posturing, pushy assholes. I want to slap some sense into them.

I especially dislike Jack though. People on that island seem to go to him for everything. I'm just waiting for the episode when someone asks Jack if they can go to the bathroom. It is funny though, I dislike almost every character on this show, but like the show as a whole.

I hate him for that! The writers should bring him back to the vulnerable and genuine character he was in the beginning of the first season. And give Locke some spine! You already took out his legs twice!

John is my favorite. Both are fascinating, due in large part to the actors who portray them, imo. Sure, Jack has faults. That's what makes him so great to watch. One of these days he is going to flip out, and I know we all want to see that.

Of course, he was already knocked down a few after Sawyer's con, but then the next episode they ignore that shit, favoring instead a storyline involving Sawyer hunting a fucking frog with Hurley, so it's not so satisfying now. Jack and Locke need to get their shit knocked down by fucking Charlie. It's not so bad getting knocked down by someone like Sawyer, Sayid, or even fucking Hurley, but having Charlie one-up them is just pouring salt on their wounded egos.

He's the leader because everyone sucks ass besides Locke, and Locke is a fucking lunatic. He's a fucking horrible leader, but the alternatives are even more pathetic. Besides Arzt. This show would've been over in two episodes if Arzt were in charge. The Others would all be wiped out in hours, and they would've left the island on a massive cruise ship.

However, most of the people on the island GIVE him that role. Wasn't it Rose who just said last week, "Shouldn't we ask Jack before building an SOS sign?"

His backstory is boring and I find myself not paying attention when he's the main character in an episode. Love or hate Locke, Sawyer, Ana Lucia, Ecko, etc., at least they're somewhat interesting. Plus, Jack's acting sucks, too. I never feel like he's displaying versatility and all of his scenes are completely interchangeable for me. In conclusion, Jack sucks and should die.
