That's a good question...and I want some answers!!!
So I was lostpediaing just like I do every Sunday Night, when I stumbled upon some random chart that was pretty cool and it had a list of all the characters...and I suddenly noticed one character on that list named Ivan! I thought, "Who the heck is Ivan? Was there a character this season that I totally forgot about?"
Turns out, Rose is NOT the only African American marked for death on the island...no, seriously, she's not! In fact, Rose fans shouldn't worry any longer: there is a black "red shirt" waiting to take the fall for her whenever the klan member in Damon might feel like once again unleashing his wrath toward the African Americans on the show!
Everybody, meet Ivan...or as I like to call him, "the Brother Other."

Now, I KNOW what you're thinking...why should we care about Ivan? But according to Lostpedia, he has been quite the significant character (for an African American extra)!
He was the one who:
*Escorted Kate and Sawyer around in the premier episode of this season (who better to be a bouncer than a big black man?)
*Attempted to shoot Sun, but missed (typical, a black man trying to kill a Korean!)
*Helped do surgery on Ben (because all ERs need a black man for affirmative action purposes)
*Was knocked out by Jack during the surgery (white man always tryna' keep the black man down!)
*Helped Danny get out of the cages (cause the black man always know how to get out of prison!)
*Found fellow extra other Aldo unconcious after Alex, Kate, and Sawyer had knocked him out (I've run out of race-related puns to put here).
Pretty much, Ivan is your awesome, stereotypical Black other, just tryna' live a life on the island, make ends meet, feed the mouths of his baby momma's kids, and all that usual "Black Other" stuff that all them "Black Other" people do.
...
Yeah, he's so going to die by the end of this season.
So let's celebrate the presense of a second black person on LOST while we still can!
Note: I apologize for my insensitivity towards race in this post. I'm just messing around and having some fun...I have nothing but appreciation for Ivan as a character as well as the actor that plays him. If you have any qualms, blame Don Imus or the rappers on TV, not me...because apparently they're the scapegoats for all racist comments nowadays.
