As the show has progressed, we have seen connections that aren't necessarily revealed through or ALL in flashbacks. (examples: Yemi's dead body in the jet that crashed on the island - Eko crashing and eventually dying on the same island. Locke connected to Ben through Anthony Cooper was shown ON the island) We have also found past relationships between non-815ers/the Others. (example: Juliet meeting Ethan off-island) It's getting a little more complicated to categorize relationships and how they are revealed. SO this list may not be perfect, but it's still pretty good reference material. I hope! Ana Lucia Cortez (DECEASED) - Jack: Ana Lucia met Jack's dad in an airport bar. Christian requested that she fly to Australia with him to be his "bodyguard". Note: When choosing fake names for each other, Christian picked the name Sarah. Sarah is Jack's ex-wife. S2E20 Two for the Road Ana Lucia - Sawyer: (In Australia) Christian accidentally hit Sawyer with his car door. Ana Lucia was in the vehicle with Christian. Note: They were parked in front of the same bar where Sawyer and Christian met later. S2E20 Two for the Road Benjamin Linus (Other) - Desmond: Ben revealed to Locke that Charles Widmore owns the boat the Freighters are on and will stop at nothing to find Ben and the island. Charles Widmore's daughter is Penny. Penny is Desmond's ex-fiancee. She is also tracking the island and trying to locate Desmond. S4E6 The Other Woman Boone Carlyle (DECEASED) - Shannon: Shannon was Boone's step-sister. Shannon's father was married to Boone's mother. *Charles Charlie* Hieronymus Pace - Desmond: Charlie is seen in Desmond's "flashes". Charlie has no memory of ever meeting Desmond. Don't ask me to explain this one. S3E8 Flashes Before Your Eyes Charlie - Sayid: Charlie to the rescue! He saved Nadia from being attacked in an alley. Nadia is Sayid's childhood friend/love. Sayid was on his way to LA to see Nadia when Flight 815 crashed. S3E21 Greatest Hits Claire Littleton- Jack: Shocker! (Not!) Christian Shephard showed up in Australia after Claire and her mother were in an accident that left her mom in a coma. He introduced himself to lil Claire as her father. Jack and Claire are brother and sister. S3E12 Par Avion Desmond David Hume - Libby/Elizabeth: Desmond met Libby in a coffee shop. He told her about his "race around the world" and she gave him a sailboat. Yes.. gave him a boat. S2E23/24 Live Together, Die Alone Desmond - Jack: See Jack's connections. Desmond - Penelope: Penelope Widmore was Desmond's girlfriend/the love of his life. She is the blonde in the photo with him that viewers saw in the hatch. Note: The actresses have changed. The actress in the original photo is not the same as the actress playing Penny now. S2E23/24 Live Together, Die Alone (for more on Widmore, see Widmore at the bottom of Flashback Connections) Desmond - Charles Widmore: Charles Widmore is Penelope's father. Powerful asshole. He succeeded in keeping Desmond and Penny apart. S2E23/24 Live Together, Die Alone (for more on Widmore, see Widmore at the bottom of Flashback Connections) Desmond - Sayid: Desmond's hatch partner, Kelvin, turned out to be none other than Kelvin (Joe) Inman. S2E23/24 Live Together, Die Alone. Inman was a CIA Operative in one of Sayid's flashbacks. S2E14 One of Them Note: This also loosely ties Desmond to Kate. Kelvin (Joe) Inman worked with Sgt. Sam Austen, Kate's stepfather. Desmond - Charlie*: (London) Desmond saw Charlie playing guitar for money. Desmond remembered Charlie from the island, but Charlie had no recollection. FLASH FORWARD/TIME TRAVEL??* S3E8 Flashes Before Your Eyes *Eko Mr. Eko* Tunde (DECEASED) - Yemi (DECEASED): He and his deceased brother, Yemi, crashed on the same island. S2E10 The 23rd Psalm Eko - Yemi*: Eko died and was buried on the island. Technically Yemi was already dead before the plane he was in crashed there, but the brothers ended up together* in a sense. S3E5 The Cost of Living Eko - Claire: Eko (acting as his deceased brother Yemi) met Richard Malkin (Claire's psychic) when he went to investigate a "miracle". A young girl named Charlotte had drowned, but "came back to life" during the autopsy. S2E21 "?" *Hugo Hurley* Reyes - Locke: Hurley owns the box company Locke worked for. S1E18 Numbers and S1E4 Walkabout Hurley and Locke's mother were both patients at SRMHI - Santa Rosa Mental Health Institution. S2E18 Dave and S1E19 Deus Ex Machina Hurley and Locke both worked for Randy (Hurley at Mr. Cluck's S2E4 Everbody Hates Hugo, Locke at the box company S1E4 Walkabout). Hurley - Jin: Hurley appears on TV when Jin visits the environmental secretary's house. S1E17 In Translation Hurley - Libby: Libby and Hurley were both patients at SRMHI at the same time. Note: Lenny (numbers guy) was also there. S2E18 Dave Jack Shephard- Sawyer: Christian/bar S1E16 Outlaws Jack - Shannon: Shannon's father died in the ER while Jack was on duty. Jack's future wife Sarah blew a tire and caused the crash with Mr. Rutherford.. which indirectly led to his death. S2E6 Abandoned Jack - Desmond: Met at the stadium pre-crash and then again on the island IN THE HATCH. Coolest connection to date. S2E1 Man of Science Man of Faith Jack - Ana Lucia*: Ana Lucia and Jack's father, Christian, met in an airport bar. What a coincidence. S2E20 Two for the Road* Jack - Claire: See Claire's connections. S3E12 Par Avion Juliet Burke (Other) - Ethan Rom (Other - DECEASED): Ethan was one of the two Dharma agents (?) who met with Juliet in Miami to offer her a job "not in Portland". S3E7 Not in Portland *Katherine Kate* Austen - Sayid: Sayid was on TV when she was visiting her stepfather in his office. S2E9 What Kate Did Kate - Sawyer: Cassidy Phillips (previously seen in S2E14 The Long Con and S3E4 Every Man For Himself) befriended Kate in Iowa. Cassidy mentioned an ex-lover who conned her and left her pregnant. The ex-lover and father of Cassidy's daughter is Sawyer. S3E15 Left Behind Locke, John - Sayid: Locke met Nadia (Sayid's childhood friend/love) when he inspected a home Nadia was buying in L.A. S2E17 Lockdown Locke - Ben Linus (Other)*: I'm not sure how to explain this one. Ben said "Bring me the man from Tallahassee" and poof, Anthony Cooper appears ON THE ISLAND. Cooper is Locke's father. I use the term father* loosely. S3E13 The Man From Tallahassee Locke - James Ford aka Sawyer: Anthony Cooper is Locke's biological father. Cooper is also "the real Sawyer", the con man indirectly responsible for the death of OUR Sawyer's parents. James Ford changed his name to Sawyer when he realized he had become the man he hated most. S1E18 Numbers and S1E16 Outlaws Sawyer - Kate: Kate's mom (Diane) waited on Sawyer at the diner. S2E13 The Long Con Sayid Jarrah - Kate: Kate's stepfather (Sgt. Austen) was one of the officers who held Sayid captive in One of Them. Also, Dad was looking at a picture of Kate right before he asked Sayid if he had family. S2E14 One of Them Shannon Rutherford (DECEASED) - Jack: See Jack's connections. S2E17 Lockdown (seen on the island, not in a FB) Michael Dawson worked for Widmore Construction. (still not confirmed) Widmore EPT makes a second appearance - used by Juliet's sister. S3E7 Not in Portland Speculation, Connection or Coincidence: Hurley - Ethan: This is a stretch, but Hurley owned a shoe company in Canada and Ethan said he was from Ontario. Sayid fought in the gulf war. (spec, may be no connection)* Locke - "Sawyer"/James: The real Mr. Sawyer is Anthony Cooper - Locke's father. Confirmed. See above in Character Connections. Sun and Jin - Widmore: Sun's father's company, Paik-Heavy Industries (the one Jin worked for) is associated with The Hanso Foundation and therefore Widmore and Dharma. (spec 1-877-HANSORG) This has never been addressed on the show. When/if it is, I'll move it to Character Connections. Sayid - Mikhail - Nadia: Mikhail's (Patchy) cat is named Nadia, named after the Romanian Olympic gymnast. This cat bears a striking resemblance to an unnamed cat that Sayid had seen before. A woman named Amira, whom he had tortured when he was in the Republican Guard, later confronted him about the incident and explained to him that she had rescued this cat from torture by street kids. But the name connection is that Nadia is also the name of Sayid's childhood friend whom he had been ordered to execute but instead freed in S1E9 (Solitary). S3E11 Enter 77 Posted by wrat1010 (Verified by writers to be a coincidence) Sayid - Shannon: Shannon and Sayid both spent time in Paris. Maybe at the same time? S3E11 Enter 77 Posted by Bad Boyfriend (Since Shannon is deceased, this is most likely a coincidence and will never be addressed. Dead storyline so to speak...) Airport Connections: Jack - Ana Lucia: Met in the airport bar. S1E23 Exodus Part One Jack - Ana Lucia/Jin: Ana Lucia and Jin were standing behind Jack when he was explaining to the clerk why he needed to get on Flight 815. S2E20 Two for the Road Sayid - Shannon: Sayid asked Shannon to watch his bags. Shannon called security. S1E23 Exodus Part One Rose - Locke: See above in Flashback Connections. S2E18 SOS Eko - Libby: Libby stopped to ask Eko if he was ok. He was having a heated discussion with Charlotte (young Charlotte, not Freighter Charlotte) who brought him a message from his deceased brother. S2E21 "?" 'Twas The Night Before 815: Hurley - Charlie: Stayed in the same hotel the night before the flight. S1E24 Exodus Part Two/Three? Michael/Walt - Scott/Steve - These characters were also in the same hotel the night before the flight. The character who was later introduced as Steve was seen in the doorway of his room as Michael and Walt were having father/son issues in the hallway. The actor who played Steve then is no longer on the show. The character who originally played Scott was still an extra (and playing the character of STEVE) until season three. I assume Steve is still alive and well on the island. (so confusing...) Misc. Connections: Gary Troup/Bad Twin (not considered concrete connections since this info comes from a book and not the show) Cindy Chandler (flight attendant) - Gary Troup: According to A NOTE FROM THE EDITOR in Gary Troup's final novel, Bad Twin - Gary knew Cindy pre-crash and dedicated the book to her. Troup died in the 815 crash. Cindy is now MIA. Update: Cindy is alive and living with the Others. Troup - Sun/Jin: "Gary Troup, although unnamed in the episode, observed the interaction between Sun and Jin in the airport when Sun spilled the coffee on Jin. The author was with a woman who was reading a manuscript. Perhaps she was his literary agent since FA Cindy was apparently working on flight 815. He tells her they "need to go back" (to the island..) S3E23 Through the Looking Glass Jack visits Hurley in the mental institution. Hurley tells Jack they "need to go back". S4E1 The Beginning of the End Jack testifies for Kate during her trial. S4E4 Eggtown Hurley Reyes (O6) - Ana Lucia Cortez (DECEASED): Hurley was questioned by Ana Lucia's ex-partner. Her father won the bid on a journal written by the first mate of the Black Rock. The Black Rock shipwrecked on the island back in the 1800s. S4E5 The Constant Sun Kwon (O6) - Hurley : As seen in Sun's flash forward, Hurley visits Sun after the birth of her baby girl Ji Yeon. He also visits Jin's grave with her. The connections between the characters are very interesting to me... even if some of them are more "easter eggs" than direct connections. I have to give Angelone credit for getting me on this kick. Back during season one she had a cool theory that all the survivors were connected by death, directly or indirectly, and that led to them being on Flight 815. There wasn't enough evidence to support that so we gave up on it. Maybe I should pull out the deaths/trauma associated with death/murder list from the survivors' past and present and post it here, too. It's always handy to have lists to refer back to.

Was there? I thought it looked like him. Also, Henry was one of the doctors in Claire's hatch flashback, right?

I always figured it was live. How else could her father be in two places at once?? How long was Sayid in US custody??

Also thanks to SI. Island/island connections (Claire/Henry) are not what I was going for, but I can add it as spec. We're not sure the doctor was Henry yet. I'm not convinced Henry was the dude changing the light bulb in Hurley's flashback, but I can add it as spec. (nevermind since dialed checked that one) dialed - I'll change that to Canada... or just remove it. It's a stretch anyway. Thanks for checking it out for me. I forget who asked me to list episode numbers and titles. DAYUM, I'm kinda lazy. But I'll work on it.

Rose - Locke: Locke and Rose had an encounter at the airport. He was in the wheelchair when he picked up her meds that had fallen on the floor. Rose has always known Locke was paralyzed pre-crash. Both have been "healed" by the island. Revealed S2E18 SOS Widmore - Seen in Charlie's FB, the Brand name of the EPT, the construction company Michael worked for (?), Widmore Labs was on the basket of Henry Gale's balloon. Feel free to add any I missed. I read somewhere that the guy who shot Ana Lucia/guy she blew away was in one of Sawyer's flashbacks in The Long Con, but I can't confirm this.

Felicia started a thread called "Death Connections" on another board and later updated it...thought I'd bring it over here and see if we can't breathe new life into this theory: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ My original post February ('05) I think: So I've been thinking (obsessing) about this "connection" we keep hearing is between all the Losties (that sounds like a breakfast cereal, doesn't it?). ANYWAY, I've always thought that the connection wasn't anything really huge, rather some similarity in their pasts that spurred them all onto that flight that day. What, pray tell, do I think this is? Death. Stick with me. So far there is death in each of the backstories we've seen, at least in the background of each character we've seen: Sayid: believes Nadia is dead. Jack: the pregnant woman he couldn't save. Jin: bloody hands Sun: I think she had an abortion at Jin's insistence. Charlie: we haven't seen his whole story yet but at the dinner table he referred to DriveShaft as "dead". Claire: I think there is more to her backstory...or it's a fabrication as mentioned by someone else. Sawyer: has the death of his parents and narrowly avoided causing the same situation again Boone/Shannon: the death of Shannon's mother Michael/Walt: death of ex-gf/mom Locke: we haven't seen the whole thing but I think I remember his wife having died? How this led to their presence on the plane: Sayid: we don't know yet Jack: He "outs" his dad, which somehow sends Christian to Australia, where Jack has to go to fetch him Jin/Sun: we know they were passing through on business, but not why. Charlie: Still a junkie, trying to get DriveShaft back together Sawyer: We saw him in the police station in OZ but not what brought him there Claire: she was put on the plane by the psychic Boone/Shannon: Shannon turned to duping her "brother" for money because of a lack of access to her trust fund. Her last conquest was in Australia Michael/Walt: well, that's where Walt lived Locke: denied his "destiny", turns out perhaps his destiny was on the Lost island. When I heard Charlie say that DriveShaft was "dead" it was like a lighbulb went off. Agree? Disagree? Expand on what I have? I hope people have something to say about this. Some are traumatic losses with no responsibility that we know of. Some are directly or indirectly responsible. I'm also adding post-crash deaths now. (12/30/05) Sayid - Indirectly responsible for the death of his friend. (can't recall his name) Lost Shannon. sniff Jack - Indirect links - Pregnant woman he couldn't save. His father died in Sydney. Mercy killing of the Marshal after Sawyer botched the job. Jack was in the ER when Shannon's father died. His (ex) wife Sarah was indirectly responsible for Shannon's father dying. Jin - Bloody hands. Not enough info. Sun- Indirect link through her father's "business". Possibly knew he killed/had people killed and looked the other way. Charlie - Nothing from his past so far. Killed Ethan after the crash. Claire - Not enough info. Boone - His step-father died. Indirectly responsible for his nanny's death? RIP BOONE Shannon - Father died. Lost Boone after the crash. RIP SHANNON. Sawyer - Dad killed his mother and then himself. Sawyer killed the man he thought was responsible for his parents' deaths. Michael - His ex-girlfriend died. Walt - His mother died.. did he or didn't he... Locke - Nothing from the past. Indirectly responsible for Boone's death. Hurley - Lost count with him. The "curse". Is he responsible? Nahh.. Kate - Indirectly responsible for Tom's death. Involved with deaths during the bank scene though she killed noone. What Kate Did - She killed her biological "father". Ana Lucia - Killed the man who caused her to lose her unborn child. Killed Goodwin. Killed Shannon. Eko - Killed some of Them. <shrug> I doubt that's the first time he killed someone. At least as far as I can tell & I'd bet 100% on it.

Definately not Henry. Watch it again, it's really obvious when you see him moving around and making facial expressions.

I don't have the eppy taped but the one pic was taken from the March 1st eppy, Maternity Leave. While Claire is down there in the hallway with Ethan, the door to a surgical suite is partway open & a masked doctor wearing horn rimmed glasses is visable. That's Henry. You can tell when he is compared in another pic of Henry. (The image was blown up some) I went back & tried to find the pic on the old thread & can't find it now. Anyone else know what I'm talking about?
