There's some cool shit that comes into the shop, and the show's pretty sweet. Plus Old Man is fucking hilarious.

Most of the interactions between the cast are pretty lame and predictable but it is cool to see the stuff that comes thru the shop. It's kind of like a white trash version of Antique Roadshow but in this case the owner gets to try to make some money off of their item. I like the old man and Rick. The kid and Chumlee not so much.

It used to be on at ten pm, Sunday nights.. now I catch it on a rerun, I guess. The last one that I watched that I never saw before was the Chumley wine episode. I do agree that some of the pawns seem set up.. I'm sure that they are probably coached by producers when they get a good one. I have learned a lot. I like when they have the experts on.

I had my pic taken with Chum Lee. He was really friendly and posed with people after the filming had ended. It was interesting watching the filming. Rick was fed his lines from someone with a laptop. He repeated some lines over and over to get the right intonation. They had to refilm one part since some shopper's cell phone went off while they were filming. The shop is a lot smaller than I had realized. I did buy a Chum Lee coffee mug.

He might have been down the street at the buffet. This is among my favorite upper cable network shows. I envy your visit. Do they have a display in the parking lot or out back of the bigger stuff that they pawn?

Assuming the person bringing stuff in is either ignorant or out of their mind, take their suggestion and offer back the square root. $9,000? The best I can do is $3,000...

I wish I would have watched a few shows a second time On Demand before my trip to look for things in the shop. My brother visited in December and got his pic taken with Chum Lee too. I was hesitant to say anything to Rick or the Old Man on my visit. I didn't want to appear to be a groupie, though that's what I am, I guess. The episode I was there for featured Rick talking about a rifle. He mentioned that the WWII rifle that he was looking at was longer and thus more accurate than those in WWI(or something to that effect). I should have taken notes! The place is easy to find. It's on Las Vegas Boulevard, not far from downtown. I took the Deuce(bus) from the Strip and it went right past the shop. I'll post a few pics later.

Last year we went to Maui and I found myself looking for a Da Kine Bail shop (Dog the bounty hunter) in the white pages. I couldn't find one on Maui, but my GF's aunt who works on one of the bigger Islands sees Beth and Dog from time to time in her restaurant. I just wanted a Tshirt and to ask Dog where he gets his grill work done. ;) ...or maybe have a picture taken with Beth's mountains.

Austin “Chumlee” Russell As Corey’s devoted childhood friend, Chumlee is just like a son to Rick and he’s been around the shop since he was a kid. Everybody loves Chum, but he is often the butt of the boys’ jokes. Part of the reason he isn’t taken seriously is that he constantly begs Corey to buy items that entertain him--like video games and circus paraphernalia-- that usually don’t make good business sense. And, although his heart of gold makes him a pro at customer service, it’s continually proven to be bad business for the shop. Chumlee always wants to give his patrons the best deal and often takes their side--a trait that never fails to push Rick’s buttons. Where did Chumlee get his nickname? Friends in elementary school took the name from cartoon character Tennessee Tuxedo’s sidekick, a walrus named Chumley.

But on this evening's news they had a story about all y'all groupie types. There are so many of you they sometimes put up velvet ropes to line you up and keep you orderly. Rick had a big laugh about it. That's all I can remember.
