After much speculation about which CBS series—The Big Bang Theory? Criminal Minds? The Mentalist?—would get the spot, the network surprisingly decided to give the boost to the freshman series Boss, which follows top executives from companies such as White Castle and Waste Management as they take on entry-level jobs at their company for new perspective. This is the first time since 2005 that a broadcast network has aired a new show after the Super Bowl. After its debut, Boss will air at 9 p.m. on Sunday, after The Amazing Race and before Cold Case. Does CBS really think they can launch this into a 5 or 6 season hit reality show? We'll see. Of course I'll watch the premiere episode though.

I would imagine they will use hidden cameras, but who knows. I really don't see this show lasting more than a season, if that. The premise is so thin. I'm really not sure what CBS was thinking with this.

What the hell, if CBS is so gung-ho about this show that they gave it the slot over TBBT, The Mentalist, and Survivor, I'll give it a chance. At the least it'll give me a good laugh at CBS's expense, and hell, the show may actually be good. Weird choice, though.

Thus the guy who looks like he ought to be on the links at Pebble Beach is suddenly sucking shit out of the port-a-johns. Weirdest and worstest post-SB show? Alias, delayed an hour, and with Sydney in dominatrix attire right at the start. Anyhow, if this show gets past the suspension of disbelief element and why are camera crews filming the geezer shit-sucker issue, I think it could be a big win for CBS.

The cameras are explained by claiming they are filming entry level workers on different jobs within the company.. something like that. It was actually pretty good. Most of the trainers are pretty candid and some of them got pretty decent rewards during the reveal. One of the bosses was a CEO for a huge trash contractor and the other was a CEO of 7/11 or some kind of convenience chain. It was a little moving. The bosses actually learn wtf is going on in the trenches. It is worth a look-see.
