I hate to start sounding like Aunor but most of what I read on research done regarding the effects of marijuana is american government anti drug propaganda, like the following:

I don't know any pot smokers who take time off work. In fact all of the pot smokers I know are the most successful and dedicated people I have ever met. I smoke weed everyday. I have not had a sick day in the last three years. I am never late, ever. My wits are always sharp. The only thing I know of that weed does that is quantifiable is it creates a loss in short term memory, which comes back just a few days after quitting smoking. It's not addictive, just ask any pot smoker who has traveled abroad for a week or more and not had their weed. They'll tell you they experience no withdrawls. Nothing.
