my fave scene is when Spike comes back and Andrew runs over and hugs him, sobbing, "my therapist said i was holding on to false hope. but he's back.

It took me a while to get used to Wesley as an asskicker, but once I got past that, awesome series that -- while definitely not being better than the greatest
show of all time, Buffy -- certainly charted its own course.
Wolfram & Hart, the van Helsing guy, Skip the evil henchman who commutes.. terrific series. Oddly, I can't slice off a lemon peel for a martini without thinking of the ep where the bad guys were trafficking in body parts. |

I actually found this show so much more compelling than Buffy. The existential crisis of Angel was much more involving than that of Buffy, and I found it much
darker and more "grown up." I miss this show a lot; and even though it took some downright bizarre turns, I loved every minute of it.

I thought the first season kinda dragged. I forced myself to watch it cause I knew I'd be going through Buffy withdrawals
 Glad I stuck with it cause the
show built and got progressively better. I much prefer Buffyverse arcs to standalones.
Cordy was the breakout star of that first season for sure <3 I was never a huge Wesley fan but LOVED the Connor storyline in s3. Hated that Cordy was MIA
during those eps (she was on her honeymoon I guess) but it made sense storyline wise. She was never the same after that storyline though.
