It will air on M-Net Africa in 2007. www.mnetafrica.com/ for more information. The contest is open to contestants from the West Africa region and Saint Helena, a British island possession in the south Atlantic famous for being Napoleon Bonaparte's place of exile and for having more Jehovah's Witnesses per capita than any place else on Earth. I wonder who will be the west African equivalent of our Axis of Evil?

He's still good though and deserved the wildcard spot. Omawumi - Wow! Black girl singing Shania? She pulled it off. Seemed like she was a bit drunk, but I loved every second of that. Another Oma to add to my list of favorite Omas. My pick to win. Timi - I love his voice (accent and all) and prefer him over Uche. Eric - swoon It was far from perfect, but I don't care... LOVE LOVE LOVE Jerrilyn - The sole Liberian in the Top 10. Kinda whiny, but considering the last time I heard a girl sing IDWTMAT, it sounded pretty good. Mercy - This diva was a little overdramatic and angry and crazy like she was PMSing. But her pic, height, and weird faces remind me of Jolanda, so I can't help but love her. Joan - As Nana said, that was heavenly. And she's cute as hell too. Temitayo - Was she channeling Vonzell with that cowboy hat? Great fun performance though. Jodie & Omodele - Two more divas to round out the Top 10. Can definitely sang, but nothing's stood out for me yet. I like this group overall. Confidence (loved her deep voice) and Lara (sang that song WAY better than Haley) were the only other ones I really wanted to make the Top 10. ETA: YouTube links

He reminds me of a more soulful John Legend. Jodie is very good too. I'm impressed. I'd actually rather watch this version than AI. The first judge looks eerily like Randy though.

You know what, I LOVE THEM ALL. There are no horribly talentless contestants like you see on AI. I felt that this show genuinely tried to get the best, since there was no need to "cast characters for a TV show" or try to fill in demographic quotas. I thought there were only 4 contestants in the top 24 who really sucked--Oluwa, Ama, Michael, and Sokari. I seriously have never enjoyed an Idol series as much as this. It should be watched by anyone who remotely likes divas and R&B singers.

I've never seen such a terrifying human being in my life. Just the way she moves and her natural uglyness are bad enough, but she has to top it all off with her clown makeup. Colorstruck hag. OMG I just heard her speaking voice. She's possessed by a demon or something. :scared: I also hate the Randy wannabe judge. He is JUST like him, and I hate Randy enough as it is. I'm also disappointed that some of the more beautiful girls didn't deliver when it came to presence on that stage. With that said, I.......... LOVE this show. Those are my ONLY complaints since everything else is very impressive. I love Jodie more after rewatching. She is beautiful. :) Destinys Champion, Jerrilynn is Carmen Rasmusen reincarnated in Africa. She is a living nightmare and I can't understand why she wasn't in the unsafe group. I fear many talented people will fall victim to her wrath. I hate that bleating wonderbitch. I won't miss Omodele one bit, but I can't believe Mercy was in the bottom 2. At least we know it's not blatant racism like usual. Temitayo is probably my favorite at this point though. Timi is my favorite male but I like the ladies much more.
