And the Canadian judges really seem to care about the kids. I've never seen the American judges get up on stage and help the kids move around or take a time out to give them pep talks.

I think CI5 looks promising though. I think the group of guys this season is good. With all that said, I still prefer AI. I do think CI usually tends to have better theme nights though. Australian Idol is consistently good, Canadian Idol has it's shining moments and AI is consistently crappy and just a venue for famewhores. CI could redeem itself this season though with all the excellent artists and real contestants it has. Carly could singlehandedly make CI the best for me too. She's my favourite Idol contestant ever already, she's amazing.

I didn't get the hype. I actually thought Sass was laughing at her. But I was oh so wrong. She's very cute, and I did watch her performance last week on Youtube to see if I had a change of heart, and I did slightly. I liked her much more. But her voice doesn't really make me happy. You know how I felt about Lisa Mitchell, although I think Carly is everything that I think Lisa should have been.

As for her "Breathe" performance I kind of liked it but I wasn't blown away by the vocal performance of it really. I just loved that she had that much emotional connection to the song. I love to see a passion for music in a contestant. That's part of why I love Theresa, Damien, Melinda etc so much, there's so much passion and emotional connection there to the music. I would agree that Carly is everything Lisa should have been on the show. Lisa fucked up bad after the semis, I hope that doesn't happen to Carly. It doesn't seem like it will, plus Carly is a bit older than Lisa which is where I think her problem lay, in her inexperience. Lisa's music though now is excellent. She's a seriously talented song writer, I love visiting her myspace to check out her songs. I still love her voice. I just wish she had been a better performer on Idol.

I will try to watch full episodes this week to get back into it. I've liked the past 2 winners of CI, and I can't say I've liked the past 2 winners of AI. I think they are the worst yet. Have Eva & Melissa had much success post show? I don't think Melissa has, but what about Eva? I wonder if Loki would like AusIdol. Hmmm....

Some of these Canadian kids are really good, and if they can break into the US market, there is no stopping them.

She got a contract with Ford Models, she signed a contract to be a spokesperson for Maybelline New York makeup, she's done some other modeling stuff. Some of her shows sold out for her tour and she got pretty good reviews for the show, usually Idol contestant's shows get totally ripped in the media. I think if she manages to put out a 2nd album with some better music, some more stuff that's true to Eva I think she could do well. Her videos have gotten some good rotation of the main music channels here so she's not doing too bad with the music aspect. She gets a lot of radio play. I mean she's the first Idol contestant to have 2 singles in the Top 10 for radio air play including Kalan and Jacob with Hedley and her 3rd single "Falling For You" gets played all the time. Her music isn't doing as poorly as other winner's music has done.
