No Idols in the top 50. Yikes for Kelly. Considering Cook was supposed to restore Idol greatness after Jordin's sub par win, their actual album sales may
not end up being that far apart. And she kicked his ass in single downloads. Anyone know what Jordin's total album sales are to date?

What? David is already 100,000 above Jordin, and he's maintaining consistent 5K+ sales every week...

At this rate, it'll take Cook ten months to sell 200K and then we'll be at S9. And that's assuming his sales are consistent. I think he's
done well but it's not like he's done SO much better than JS. He might outsell her by 200-300K which is still something in this market. A year
ago, some thought Cook was going to do as well as/better than Daughtry. Music sales are horrible now so I don't think anyone from Idol will ever sell 4
million albums again.

Cook didn't tour with the Jonas Bros or Alicia Keyes. He also didn't include a duet with Chris Brown (who was a hot commodity before he beat up
Rihanna) to boost his sales. Cook did it on his own.

Jordin sold millions of singles though and Cook hasn't done as hot on that front to my knowledge so I guess they even themselves out. Plus, Cook's
fanbase are more likely to purchase albums and not be computer savvy enough to download singles etc (40 plus womens), and Jordin's fanbase are the kiddies.
Jordin has done exceptionally well despite being flagged on Sucks for an epic fail. Cook has done great too and sold a shitload of c.d.'s for an album without a major hit. Even if it was for me, MPC <3. Nobody hates Mantasia harder than MPC. <3 |

Jordin, Kellie and Carrie all see sales increases
Jordin Sparks' Battlefield really looks to be catching on now. Not only is it flying up the airplay charts, it has its third consecutive week of double-digit sales increase. A 41 percent jump this week to 55,000 downloads puts Battlefield easily past the 200,000 total download scans, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Last week's CMT Music Awards probably helped Kellie Pickler and Carrie Underwood, both of whom saw increases for their album and track sales. In fact, Kellie's Best Days of Your Life broke the 500,000 mark.
Jordin Sparks, Battlefield (Main Version) (55,000, +41 percent, 241,000 total)
Carrie Underwood, Carnival Ride (10,000, +2 percent, 2.90 million total/210,000 digital total)

Yeah, I agree. According to Idol Chatter, Jordin sold 1,060,000 albums and Cook is at 1,178,000 (and still selling). Her first album is done because her second is on the way. Add her multi plat singles and another on the way, and I'd say they've both done very well. But neither is at the Kelly/Carrie/Daughtry level. Maybe nobody off the show ever will be though due to changes in the biz. |

Although, I guess anything is possible, look at Taylor Swift...she's still selling like it's 2004 and the industry isn't in the shitter. |
