Yes, that wonderful show that used to air on Comedy Central that featured remote-controlled robots fighting each other in a trap-laden arena to see which robot
was the deadliest motherfucker out there is finally coming back. From what I'm understanding, they'll be showing bots build by colleges fighting each
other, and they'll be airing the episodes on CBS College Sports around late August. Not the most glamorous comeback, but hopefully it'll build
interest and we might see a bigger network jump on this, and then we'll return into a full-fledged Battlebots tournament like the old days.
I'm definitely excited to see some action again, since the show hasn't aired since 2002, including reruns, and I've only found the first two seasons online recently, with the latter three still missing. Though robot combat tapered off after Battlebots ended, it didn't die, and they still had lots of smaller competitions with more robots, so I'm hoping that if we get a full-fledged show again, we'll get some new impressive robots that will really kick ass.
Hopefully I'm not the only one excited that after seven years in limbo, Battlebots is finally coming back.
