Worst: Bi-Lo and Food Lion. They smell funny and there are always screaming kids running around unattended with dirty faces. Gross.

and there are some pretty bad HEBs - the new ones are good, the old ones approach Piggly Wiggly status
The last time I walked into one of the old ones, the two large vegetable featured items bins were full of rotted avocados and wilted poblano peppers with a nasty smell coming from them - this is also the store where the old man who'd peed himself was at the checkout line next to mine. Blech. |

I can't believe Superstore is listed as "Best" by some of you.
::looks at Mr. Bond:: It's chaotic, messy, gross wilted produce, and here's the kicker: YOU HAVE TO PACK YOUR OWN GROCERIES!!! Fuck that. |

Here, small retail stores are worst. They are cheap and has few stock items.

best around here: Price Chopper or Wegmans. Price Chopper has a much better seafood section. and meat. nad they give you money off gas. I saved 80 cents a
gallon on my last fill up because of them. yeah, I'm gonna have to go with PC over Wegmans.

Of course since we stay in a trailer while we're there we buy a lot of grilling foods, some salad vegetables and breakfast food, and little else. |

Pahrump Mania wrote: Pahrump, iirc, you said you stay in OOB when in Maine. If that is the case, to get veggies you are better off going to the Farmer's Market in the Shaw's plaza in Saco. Much fresher produce. They are every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday I believe. |

I haven't heard of most of these stores - I must really live in Podunk.
It depends on the store - I go to one Giant Eagle for meat, produce, and sometimes their weekly specials, I wouldn't set foot in the other one. I go to Walmart for everything else. |

Super Walmarts have grocery stores in them - I'm not sure if they have them in Houston - it's a tough market for grocery stores as both Albertsons and
Safeway found out (neither one is around here anymore as far as I know)

Hey NOIS! And pie!
You know what good from President's Choice? Their rotisserie BBQ roast chickens. Probably full of fat and chemicals, but when I'm lazy and just want something fast and cheap, those are great with some basmati rice made at home. So moist. Lasts a couple days, and then I use the carcass to make soup! Ingenious! |

President's Choice stuff is always good - their frozen OJ is the best! however the stores that carry President's Choice are the worst! Super-Value
stores are worse than Superstores. Super-Values are tiny, dirty, old run down places. Worst of the big places: Superstore - it's like i get hives when i
walk in.

I've heard Aldi sucks but never been in one.
Didn't Food Lion get busted a few years back for putting barbeque sauce on their expired chicken and selling it in the deli? |
