You left out the student loan bills.

Most people who hit that magic $250k mark started out working in shitty jobs and busted their asses in school. Some of them got full-ride scholarships, some of them had to deal with financial aid and student loans. They all needed beer and weed money just like everybody else, so they worked in restaurants, or at coffee shops, or mowing fucking lawns, but they worked. The trend continued into graduate school, where they racked up more bills and worked even harder to stay both shitfaced and as debt free as possible, just like everybody else. All while maintaining a decent enough GPA to be employable. Once the education thing was over, they took low-level jobs in their fields of business (or started their own companies) and worked their way up the ladder over the course of decades to make that magical number of $250k per year. Now can anybody tell me WHY somebody who has gone through all that shit in order to better him/herself should be punished for success? Anyone? |

You could rephrase it this way: if you are going to be punished for "success", where is the incentive to work hard and succeed?

to become disinterested in yourself like the rest of us have. Before or after me?
