omg you guys remember ALIEN NATION Yeah, this is sort of an unintended remake of Alien Nation. For those who don't "get" the trailer, the idea of District 9 from what I understand is that alien refugees land and try to integrate into human society. The twist is that while most other sci-fi (like Alien Nation) tends to portray them assimilating into American culture, these aliens have landed in South Africa, which is already a political and social mess. Quite the compelling premise. I'm compelled. Are you compelled? |
