But now that it's clear it does mean that much to others, I'll leave the show to them to enjoy. I just hope the Kris voters really do support him in sales, so he doesn't become the sequel to Taylor Hicks. He deserves better than that.

I'm in California, and I placed over two hundred calls for Kris and only THREE of them got through. Apparently, Kris was pretty popular in Adam's home state, too. Maybe some of those 38 million votes in Arkansas can offset the many votes I and others tried to place but couldn't get through...

I'm guessing his votes went up with his top 9 performance (since he was still pretty unknown up to that point). It's still very impressive to me that he wasn't really ever bottom 3 especially since basically all of his performances got middling/meh reviews. I mean there was really only two or three performances that the judges super raved about. Then you compare to Danny, Allison, and especially Adam where most of theirs always got huge reviews.

Ironically enough, the week after Top 9 was his worst week in the finals. I'm more surprised that they never used the term "boring" about him. But maybe that's because there was always somebody more boring than him (Matt, for example, and Danny, at times)

The religious nutjob that I work with told me that her church had an Idol watching party and then power voted for Kris/Against Adam for four hour straight. I agreed with you until you put Allison in there with Danny and Adam, wtf show were you watching? seriously? Allison is probably the most underated and unappreciated contestant when equalled to her talent this show has ever seen. I think Kris pulled out a huge upset. It happens all the time in sports. It's fun to watch actually because it's nice to see someone come from behind and win when it's so unexpected. I'm not contractually obligated just because I voted him. The show is for exposure only. It's not meant to platform them for life, that's why there's a new competition every year. I think that's what some fans of the show don't really understand.

I was coming out of a club a few years ago and going to my car with friends when these really funny but obviously gay young men came walking through the parking garage. They were in hysterical outfits and one had a duck floaty around his waist and they were just laughing and having a great time and out of nowhere these guys just attacked them. They hadn't said anything to them and didn't even see them coming. The guy with the ducky floaty on had his head split open on the pavement. It was the most frightening thing I had ever experienced. I was heartbroken not only for them but for society in general because until then, I think I actually believed that that kind of bigotry and hatred was rare. It's not.

If Kris fails with his first album he's done. He won't get another shot in the business. whereas Adam clearly has the ability to go back to doing broadway and theater.
