If he wins he'll have good songs thrown at him left and right, as the American Idol, and the marketing comes with it. If he loses, it's not going to be as easy. With Adam I think it's different. He'll make it no matter what.

Adam Lambert is much more popular than Kris Allen based on the number of searches being done for their names. As a matter of fact, it's not even close. Whether you look at searches worldwide, or just in the States, Lambert is more popular by a very wide margin. Geographically, Kris Allen only received more searches for his name in one location in the entire world..........that would be the state of Arkansas, where he is from. Lastly, we have our own opinion of the contestants. When I say we, I refer to, yours truly, the author of this Idol page, and a few friends who are equally as interested, both from a betting standpoint, and a musical standpoint. The feeling here is, Adam Lambert is simply the better singer and all around entertainer. Kris Allen will possibly be forgotten once the show is over. Adam Lambert will be in the spotlight for years to come. If Adam Lambert doesn't win, the credibility of American Idol will be damaged beyond repair. If he doesn't win, the show will be reduced to nothing more than a popularity contest. A popularity contest based on peoples personal beliefs concerning religion, sexual orientation, looks and any number of other factors that go into decisions as to whether or not they like a person, or not. I don't understand how this write reconciles those two statements. If Adam doesn't win, it is because the show is a popularity contest? Does that mean they think Kris is more popular? They just said Adam is more popular. If Adam wins, doesn't it meant that he won because is more popular? And yes, Adam is very talented, but I just don't like the timbre of his voice. I hate the crazy vibrato. I hate the screeching. I don't dislike him because of religion, sexual orientation, looks, or any number of other factors that go into decisions as to whether or not I like a person. I like Kris more than Adam based on their singing, which this show is about. I hate how people think that people aren't voting based on singing just because they don't like their preferred contestant. All music is subjective. Some people like certain genres of music and dislike others. It's not because one is inherently inferior than the other. It is a matter of personal preference. Yes, Adam is good, but I would prefer not to have him screech at me all the time. Some people like that. I don't.

Kris comes up with a total of 380.12, Adam with 379.92. Way to close to call based on Dial Idol. And I still stand by my comments that Dial Idol isn't dependable. That 1.1 margin that did not change for over four hours last night, not realistic. All it means is that the site was overloaded and they could not process any more than that amount of information at the time.

I voted for Adam CHIEFLY because of his talent and charisma....but I do admit that around 5% of my decision came from the prospect of aneurysms from those actively voting against him CHIEFLY due to his sexuality. So does that make a small part of me idiotic? Maybe, but I'll live with it. I also don't believe that Adam must win just so the gay community can make a political point....though I'll admit it would be a nice, not necessary, side effect.

Adam is immensely talented and will be a great star. But - I wouldn't buy his music - it's not what I listen to. It has nothing to do with his looks, age, eyeliner, anything. To me, it's just who I'd buy. On the other hand - I think that the control factor that 19 Entertainment has over someone's career for that first year will be much harder for Adam than Kris. Spin doctors will be working overtime on Adam's image.
