Depending on which medication it was, one or more of them are known to have side effects which include "suicidal thoughts". According to Taylor, Russell only took the medications for a short time and stopped.  But just to make sense of why anti-depressants can cause suicide as a side effect, when people are severely depressed, they lack the energy to take any initiative whatsoever.  The stereotype is someone who lets their grooming go, doesn't get out of bed, etc.  When the antidepressant first kicks in, it gives them enough energy to begin doing things that the very deep depression had kept them from doing, get out of bed, take a shower, do laundry and go to the grocery store, or kill themselves.

I think that Taylor has Borderline Personality Disorder, and if so, a lot of Russell's depression could be sourced to being married to her.  In most personality disorders, the afflicted is who suffers, but with Borderlines, their environment, meaning everyone within their orbit, is who suffers.   My read on Taylor is her protestations about how she would have done anything to save her marriage was all calculated to make Russell look worse, instead she was determined to destroy him.   With borderlines, when they love you, you are a god to them..... but then at some point in the relationship they turn, and everything wrong in their life is your fault, and you are a devil and must be destroyed before their life can return to normal.  Until you have been a target of a borderline, you have no idea how overwhelming it can be,

On another note, on the video of Taylor finger popping fun posted a couple pages back, look at the expression on Taylor's face as the cameras are flashing.... it is an almost demented, carnal expression.  She is absolutely enraptured by the attention she is receiving. She is where she has always wanted to be in that moment, dead husband and all.
