I guess this isnt really considered spoiler material, but at this point, pretty much everyone whose seen the finally came to the same conclusion that the
ship in the beginning was the Black Rock, and that Richard was on that ship, probably the captain.
But heres what we didnt seem to discuss. What were the circumstances behind Ricks immortality? Was it forced on him by Jacob in exchange for recruiting people
to the island? Does Richard want to be immortal?
Im just saying, when Locke, or whoever it really was said he was going to kill Jacob, Richard didnt seem to try to talk him out of it, considering Richard is
supposedly Jakes loyal servant. Could Richard actually want jacob dead so that he can be freed from whatever spell Jacob has him under? They made it way too
obvious on the finally that Jacob was a good guy, possibly too much of a good guy. Could there be more to the Jacob vs. Other Guy feud that we wont learn about
until next year?

First of all, it's f-i-n-a-l-e.
And it's just your assumption that Richard was on the Black Rock. I don't think he was. I think he's just as "eternal" as Jacob & Anti-Jacob. Richard is comparable to an archangel. Could there be more to the Jacob vs. Other Guy feud that we wont learn about until next year?That will probably be the crux of the entire series. |

Yeah, you're right Hostie. I'm not familiar with archangels that much either but I used that term for lack of a better one. I like disciple much
better. But an ageless disciple. I think he's learning right along with everyone else.
He might have infiltrated the crew of the Black Rock for Jacob though. |

Jacob brings the Black Rock to the Island, which eventually leads to Dharma coming to the Island, which leads to 815 crashing on the Island, which leads to his
death. He plays a long game, this one.
It does make you wonder why he used Richard for anything. Jacob doesn't age, can't be killed. I suppose he was in hiding somehow, but from whom? The Anti-Jacob guy knew about the Statue. From Dharma?

The Anti-Jacob talked to Jacob outside of the statue at the beginning, and he asked Richard to lead him to Jacob and, upon arriving, waited for Richard to find
the opening.

Especially after Ben knew of his intentions. If he acted more out of place, Ben might become more suspicious and tell Richard.

Nah. This was new "Enlightened Locke". With Ben willing to do anything he said. He could have taken Ben to the Statue, opened it up, and had
Ben kill Jacob. If Ben asks how Locke knows this stuff, he just repeats that "The Island told me" line. That would have worked to.
Killing Jacob was not his only plan apparently. He brought Richard and the Others to show them Jacob was not a god, perhaps to take his place in their society. Perhaps not. He must have known Locke's corpse would surface at some point.
