It sounds like a bunch of bonus tracks for the first album. Really, you could put them all on one big shuffle and not tell which album it came from (if you
didn't know).
But that's fine, cause I like the first album, so this is good to have too. |

What the FUCK?
I LOVE the album and think it's a clear, solid improvement over their prior album. I'm not a huge fan of hard rock albums, but I think this album has a terrific blend of harder stuff (compared to their debut) and poppish melodies. It strikes just the right tone between familiarity and being fresh. One thing Daughtry does extremely well are ballads, and I swear, "September", "Life After You", and "Tennessee Line" are absolutely some of their best songs from both of their albums. They're stellar and some of my favorite songs ever released by Idol alumns. The lyrics in all 3, the melodies, the harmonies, just gorgeous. I was not a Daughtry fan on AI4 as people may or may not remember, and I didn't buy his debut except for eventually all the singles + Crashed. (Which is why after I bought Leave This Town I just Completed My Album for the debut on iTunes for like 4 bucks.) So as someone who really just liked the singles on the last album, I took the plunge and bought the new album because I figured they'd have a lot of really good songs, and I truly wasn't disappointed. I don't understand why Sucks has been hating on it because on a lot of other forums I've seen quite a lot of praise for it. Also: First time I heard No Surprise I, too, was like "Wow, this is really boring, generic, and safe sounding". But it grew on me and now I really quite like it a lot. |

I haven't even listened to this album yet... gotta try it out. If it has CC's stamp of approval, then it must be good heh. I loved all the singles from
the debut as well.
