I really liked the ep, but it's feeling more and more like they are headed toward Daniel/Jack's plan actually working... and that kind of scares the hell out of me.

Thoroughly loved it, as has become the trend this season. They keep topping themselves.
Same, SI. Without speculating in detail, I think the season cliffhanger is going to be a complete WTF!?!?! |

I dunno, Daniel...who clearly seemed to know the entire future of the island from 1977 on, including the cause of the problem at the Orchid (a guy drilling too far) and the reaction at the Swan site down to the hour and minute...specifically said the incident was caused by the drilling too far...NOT by a bomb. In fact, he wanted to use the bomb to obliterate the incident and change things. So, if Jack and Eloise do indeed trigger the bomb correctly...it doesnt cause the incident, it overshadows it, changing everything. I just dont see why people think the bomb going off IS the incident...its contrary to the scenario the show just introduced? Unless we are to assume faraday was wrong about what caused the incident...which doesnt make sense to me. THATS the one thing hes wrong about?? |

Richard and Eloise said the bomb is under the Dharma compound. The bomb can't be the incident, because if it blew up, it would take all the housing along
with it. But, the bungalos are still there 30 years later.

Volume on, they plan on moving the bomb to where the Swan hatch is going to be built and detonate it there.

Hurley failing the quiz was hilarious -- 46 years old and "there's no such thing" and the Korean War.

I believe Hurley tried to prepare for something like that happening and no one would listen to him. I seem to recall Hurley asking who was president
shortly after coming back to the island.

If Jack is correct then once the bomb goes off history would be changed and they would no longer be there.

I never considered Jacob to be evil. His "help me' alone reduced that possibility to near zero for me. John saying he wnaetd to kill him yesterday was
another great 'shock Locke' line similar (but not as badass) as the "we need to move the island" line from last year. I also think killing J
might be a good thing/what Jacob wants.
I love that John got all the Others to go along on the trek to go see the wizard, errr Jacob. |

phantomkp wrote: I am solidly back on the Whatever happened, happened philosophy. Daniel's whole reason for coming back to the island is because he realized he could change things. So we can presume that if he didn't think he could change things, he wouldn't have come back. We have been lead to believe that this is something new. But old Eloise knew that she was going to kill her son. So that always happened. Meaning Daniel thinking he could change things always happened (because he wouldn't have been on the island to be shot by Eloise if he didn't think he could change things). So either they don't set off the bomb and stop the incident....or they set off the the bomb and it IS the incident. Whatever way it goes, that's the way it always went. MHO......for now |

I recall Locke telling Ben that they were wrong to be living in the barracks eating chicken out of the frig. etc.
I think maybe that is why Ben got cancer, because they weren't living off the island like they were supposed to. So the "others" were not living right when they were in Dharmaville. |
