And I had to check out Dianna Agron's resume, and found she was the bitchy head cheerleader in Heroes (the one who was hauled away blabbering and incoherent when witnessing Claire coming back to life). She looks like she was born to play Elphaba from Wicked.

That would have given it the best chance to become a hit ("House" NEVER would have succeeded without that lead-in). They messed up, though, when they decided to delay it till the fall, even though the one episode will premiere after Idol.

I never saw High School Musical but this show is definitely written for adults. I may have misunderstood but I was under the impression that it would get a short run this summer and if the ratings are good, be a Fall midseason replacement. I can find out if you like.

Because if we learned anything from the writers' strike last year, it's that audiences simply love coming back to new scripted shows after short runs then lengthy breaks.
