He used his surroundings a lot, if it was more open (without the trees to hide behind), I think the Gladiator would have had a better shot.

It's not like they were ridiculously musclebound and could fought like The Thing. I'm glad the spartan beat the Ninja, I was getting a little tired of the little ethnic guys whooping on the huge honkys. Do we know any of the future match ups?

And I loved that the Spartan won even though I cheered as the Apache took the Gladiator down. It's all about the viciousness for me. Yeah, a gladiator could fight like a monster but Apache had a kind of bloodlust the gladiators didn't really have. A much better show would be, for example, a pack of ten vikings against ten Samuri. Adds a whole extra dimension. And much closer to reality. Vikings would kick ass, by the way.

Deadliest is the superlative of deadly, but the show is only comparing two things. Hence, you would use the comparative, deadlier. Not "Who is deadliest?" in the opening shot, but "Who is deadlier?" Sorry for going all Grammar Nazi, but that irks me. :/
