Notice how far behind they were compared to the rest of the teams? They themselves said in an interview they had to call up the airlines to get them to reallocate seats so they could get onto economy.

Well, this was probably a Nick/Starr-esque penalty which was assessed, but since it didn't affect the placement, wasn't shown. I mean, there had to be a reason why Jodi was shown waiting alongside Kisha and then when departure times were shown the next leg, Christie/Jodi started the leg around 2 hours after the sisters.

They are only shown if they somehow affect the order of finish. In the 12th leg of TAR3, all three remaining teams assessed the same 30 minute penalty and were all penalized. There was no reason to show it. One thing that HAS changed is that teams are expected to wait by the pit stop until they can check in. Reichen/Chip were shown waiting in the pit stop area to see if their penalty would end before the Clowns could check in.

I think if I was going to involve myself in a game show like this, I would memorize ALL the freakin' rules so as to NOT get penalized. I think these little turds knew the rules, but broke them anyway! They sure didn't seem very surprised! This was especially odd, considering that they just got penalized the episode before! It seems they are trying to cheat, but just aren't very good at it. Ginger Snappers WIN!! Tiny boys LOSE!!

Plus, it ended up being nullified by the airport bunching, so it ultimately didn't matter. I take it Mark & Michael's penalties were mentioned on-air because the editors wanted to hint at us that they could matter on the next leg. Hopefully, they do.

The penalty was harsh, but I can see reasons behind the rule and it makes total sense. Any team can technically beg for a free ride, but the values of possessions can ary where it'll place some teams at a disadvantage. Fairness debate aside, I ultimately lol'd at the penalty. Back to back multiple penalties, the midgets have definitely broken a record. <3

So this rule makes perfect sense to me. Now if Kisha & Jen did not let the cab driver know beforehand that they didn't have any money, that's another story. But they did, so end of discussion.

My point is that at least they tried to pay the cabdriver with something instead of just saying, "Poor us. Can we have a free ride?" As for rich teams smuggling in stuff to barter before the race...just pull a Survivor and go through their stuff disallowing anything above a certain value or limit them to one "luxury item" i.e. forehead flashlight, compass, etc.

It was the DRIVER'S CHOICE TO GIVE THEM A FREE RIDE. Jen and Kisha didn't stick a gun to his head and say "Give us a free ride, foo." Others have gotten free rides too, you weren't bitchin then.
