If Megan would just do/stick to Corinne Bailey-Rae type of songs/style (with a dose of Norah Jones thrown in) and interpret all genres that way, she'd be
doing a hellavu lot better. But she insists in trying to be all things for all genres, and she just can't pull it off. She's the token bimbo that Simon
must have written into his contract to get to keep around until at least the halfway point. She just happens to be probably the worst singer of all the token
bimbos we've had to endure.

I saw the results show earlier this evening while on vacation here in Australia. I didn't know it was even shown here. Just glad to see the fat guy go.

A) I think judges save is cruel too, but for Michael Sarver I just couldn't get the hate up tonight. I actually do have a thread on this but I really don't even care to bump it, it is what it is. Michael Sarver might not have even accepted the save if it was given to him. Both He, and America were relieved and happy to see him go. I don't really consider him a fame whore in fact I don't even think he cared about being the next American Idol. He didn't even really seem sad in the least that he was going home. He didn't even make that Begging song funny. He could have literally begged and pleaded but didn't ruining any sick enjoyment that moment may have had. That could have been one of the all time great Idol moments.Imagine if Adam or Tatiana sung that song. It literally makes me terrified in anticipation just thinking of it, it would have changed the world forever! He is so unable to get himself the spirit of any song that he cannot even experience what is literally happening to himself at that moment! He has zero, literally less than zero performance abilities and no artistic interpretation skills what so fucking ever. B) If you think Billie Holiday is a bad singer, please stop posting here ever again. C) Megan Joy IMO has a great voice but she has no idea how to use it. Although I was a KKKristy fan last year so take my opinion with a grain of salt. ..sigh.. She is kind of like a 10 year old boy with a Backhoe, they have so much enthusiasm and it's their dream to finally use a Backhoe but they turn the switches, and press the buttons and before you know it three people have fatal injuries and the port a potty is spilled over! If Megan Joy ever learns how to control her voice to it's fullest she will be a real threat in this competition. |

Why not? Troll is ugly and I think her voice is far less appealing than Megan's and the judges praise her.
The judges loved Megan's voice from her first audition and she didn't look super hot then. She didn't have her hair dyed blonde or anything and she was pretty plain looking, cute by plain. They've glammed her up. Megan is hot but I don't think it's why they put her through, it's not like she showed up to her audition in a bikini. She just has a voice that appeals to some people. She's obviously far from being some kind of technical virutoso but she's enjoyable to listen to and could actually be marketable in today's music world. This is true since she's said she has no formal singing training and that is probably what hurts her the most. She sounds great imo, great tone, love listening to her but yeah her technical flaws are obvious. I would hope that if she got to stay a little bit longer she'll pick up more technique from Byrd and the other vocal coaches. Plus being sick hasn't helped her. She sounded best on Rockin' Robin before the influenza hit. |

Its not exactly a strip search or waterboarding at Gitmo (which might be a good punishment for Randy and Simon). Is it annoying? Yes. Stupid? Yes. Inhumane? Michael is a down to earth guy who was under no stupid illusions that 1) he was going to win; or 2) that the judges ever had the slightest intention of saving
him. He was just happy to make the tour, and ready to go home. Simon already said LAST WEEK that if he'd been the lowest vote getter, they wouldn't
have given him a second chance. And with so many other contestants to pimp (Danny, Adam, Scott, Matt, & Lil) the judges love for him ended after their
positive comments accidentally helped him slip past Anoop (then a pimped one as well) and into the finals on semis week 1.
I think If Allison had Megan's voice she would have been sent home by the anonymous screeners and not even gotten in to see the judges. True, Megan didn't audition in a bikini, but she was picked to be in the Wildcard (and then to be in the finals), for reasons other than being the 4th or 5th best female singer in the group. 14th best is more like it. She has a potentially interesting voice, but not the slightest idea of what to do with it. |
