If it was really creamy, it might be good. But it's actually kind of gelatinous and gooey and artificial-tasting.
Not awful, but definitely overrated. Give me steamed basmati any day. Now that there is GOOD rice. |

Two totally different animals. Basmati is an aromatic rice and should be prepared to be very nearly the exact OPPOSITE texture of Arborio. It should be light
and loose and have a delicate flavor to offset strong Indian cuisine. It's like comparing ravioli and penne. They're not supposed to be anything like
each other.

what's "fancy" about it is that it's a classic. it's made with wine, expensive cheese, imported rice, fresh yummy ingredients, and love. you cannot compare it to fucking rice a roni. |
